Klopp is doing it deliberately, I’m sure of it. Unfortuneately I don’t want the last laugh however if we lose a game I know exactly who to blame.
What is this situation with Elliot being 3rd choice midfielder? why did we buy Thiago …?
Still no reason to put him down in a game he’s not even starting before a ball is kicked.
Am I the only one who was disappointed that Harvey wasn’t wearing his mask properly for the 30 second walk from coach to changing room? Come on man, lets have an amazing performance to redeem yourself !

Thiago had an injury right at the end of preseason, I’m not surprised Klopp doesn’t want to risk him for a match like this. I think all things being equal, if everyone is fit, Elliot starts on the bench.

True then again we are supporters on an internet forum.
Klopp: team selection has been based on stability. It’s still early so we go for continuity. After the International break, we have three games a week, then we look to start rotating.
Or a slap from mcmahon…he could look after himself.
Brilliant that young Elliot gets the nod in a game of this stature. Only caught the second half of the Burnley game and thought he was excellent in that and Klopp clearly has no reservations about him , and the crowd will really get behind him.
Beyond excited for this now. Come on Reds !
Elliot a surprise (not saying he doesn’t deserve a chance, but I am surprised because he goes before more experienced options), the rest of the team not. This team looks very good on paper if everyone is in form. We have also strong bench options to insert around minute 70 or earlier if needed, with Jota, Thiago and optional players for midfield and defense. I assume the plan is, if we are in the lead, to give some of the more experienced players on the bench, some game time around minute 75-78 or something like that. But this is against what is looking to be an incredible version of Chelsea. The addition to Lukako the Panzer-Striker on top of their very good squad as well as a manager who seems to have glued himself into Chelsea in record time; this is looking to be a very tough match.
But it is Anfield, I have us as slim favorites !
Good luck everyone ! Let us enjoy some quality football no matter (almost) how this goes
Think it might be 4-2-3-1? Or have we evolved far beyond shifting to that and will stick with Henderson and Elliot ahead of Fabinho?
Come on Liverpool.
Klopp must really, really think he has a player in Elliot.

There’s no doubt about it. Remember we still have Curtis to come back, and Kaide to come up to the first team later this season. Fucking love it.
I believe in the lads on the pitch! Elliot might surprise everyone today. The boy will be alright
Yeah, bit perplexed that he starts. Let us hope it works out ! It might !
I have a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach. Come on you reds!
An Elliott nutmeg on Azpilicueta for a 90 min winner in front of the Kop… I dream
The dream is on!
Run rings round em Harvey…
Scenes if Elliott scores. Nervous for this one though. Hope Joel and Virg bully the fat lad up top for Chelsea
So excited for this one! A few decisions and the manager made them all. Robbo back in for Kostas, so must have had a good week training under his belt. All good. But well done Kostas for tiding us over, and showing that we have a very capable back up left back.
Slight decision in central defence, but Matip has started the season well and gets the nod. Few can argue there.
Midfield decision promoting most discussion. Elliott gets the nod. Amazing. What a boost for the lad. Is it too much to ask for a winner today? Probably! But I can’t wait to see how he plays in a game of this nature, and even if he is slightly off it, he will learn and come again. But Klopp knows what he’s got, and he is putting him in there, no problem. Bring it on lad!
Up front Bobby for Jota. I personally would have done that the other way around, as I think Bobby reads the game better and would get into it quicker from the bench. But then again, if we need a late goal Diogo has shown he has goals in him.
And yes, what a strong bench! We all get into it in the transfer window, because we all want new signings, but you need to really have something about you if you want to displace someone already here.
Can’t wait for kick off.
