I prefer Gomez at fullback today.
Even though Millie slower and not a natural defender I think his experience and gamesmanship gives him the nod over Joe. Even against Porto, Joe came in and got spun diving in twice in about 3 minutes, Millie has the experience to know how to play against these pacey players and won’t isolate himself or dive in. I reckon he goes on a yellow then maybe Joe off the bench, but then again he was on a yellow against Palace for ages if I’m not mistaken and managed. Think Joey just needs more time after that injury and we can afford any mistakes at right back, which I think Millie is less likely to make at this stage. Attacking wise I think Millie can put in a better ball than Joey being a midfielder

Up really early this am, have a grocery curbside order pickup at Walmart. Needed some munchies for the game and a bottle of antacids just in case. I’m optimistic but cautious as it all depends on which Reds Team shows up today, the Mentality Monsters, or the can’t defend, can’t score alter ego team we see occasionally which defies reasoning. I’ve been watching VVD really close the past few games and it appears he’s nowhere near top form. He looks sluggish when defending close to the goal or reacting quickly. Maybe it’s just me? Anyway, should be a hell of a game, my predictions is 3-1 Reds Win.
Same starting line up that played against Porto for me with perhaps a look at the front line on 2 out of Mane, Jota and Firming.
Enough effort, accuracy and simple will and we can win this.

I think it’s really only the right-back position that is in doubt? I’m presuming Firmino will get the spot ahead of Jota, of course. Given that Jota did play most of the last couple of matches, I’m not sure that’s too far a leap.

When I think about Joe at RB one of his injuries comes to my mind. I think it was against Burnley. Don’t want to see him there.
Not saying that RBs are getting injured more than CBs but someone with Joes long term injury record and the body weight he has to carry should not play at RB with all the runs, fast movement and turns etc.
