Totally agree, I was just going to post a reply to someone mentioning Mahrez’s 1st touch to say the same as you have, Mahrez always cuts inside.
Who threw a bottle?
You literally posted the article, the item thrown which hit her was a bottle.
Pyrotechnics coins and other objects.
I was asking as I thought you may have read a different article where it states a bottle.
It’s a weird article that doesnt report on facts that are in the public record. Presumably they are trying to be extra cautious given the pending nature of the investigations and cases, but isnt this where you can just lean heavily on the word “allegedly”?
Most other sources are reporting that multiple objects were thrown out of the visitors end, with the reported injury being caused by a bottle. No one seems to have been dealt with over those incidents in real time.
The racially aggravated public order offense was supposedly a city fan verbally abusing a disabled Liverpool fan, and the fan was deal with and removed from the stadium and seemingly charged.
One of the things that has characterized the growing ugliness of this fixture is the utter reluctance of groups among both sets of fans to acknowledge their own wrong doing and so lack of desire for their own to be held accountable. Oddly vague reporting like this, that refuses to identify which groups of fans to did what to whom when it’s known, probably contributes to that.
The mail states glass bottles
Man City and Liverpool condemn ‘wholly unacceptable’ crowd trouble | Daily Mail Online
I just had a search, the article I linked to didn’t mention bottles at all which is why I asked the question.
The media are full of bias and shit reporting for clicks and revenue in general.
It’s a shame when you hear of incidents at games especially when it involves your own club but this is a result of a hostile rivalry that’s been brewing for 5+ years and a pattern I can only see continuing…how do you go about repairing a toxic relationship between fan bases in football? You can’t.
You’ll hear these stories in games like Utd City Spurs Arsenal Birmingham Villa Liverpool Everton Liverpool Utd Liverpool City. Places that share genuine rivalry and animosity.
Where else?
P.s Hope the girl recovers and the person/people culpable banned.
Didnt watch the game…but its so believable it seems pointless even discussing it…
For a few minutes there it looked like he was trying to skate on an ice rink.
Biggest concern for me is that the back 4 is so heaviiy reliant on VVD to do the organizing. Without him we are all at sea. We really should be able to rely on Matip in particular for organization, and Gomez has more than enough experience at this level.
Would like to know who did what. You can rest assured that the cheaty admin would point score if it was Liverpool led (just look at the Pep ‘coin throw’ crap) and try to obfuscate if cheaty fans were involved - again coin throwing allegations when much more serious behaviour committed by their fans initially refused to be condemned. Call me a cynical (middle aged) git if you like, but I suspect that the joint statement reflects that cheaty don’t think they’ll get mileage from trying to pin it on Liverpool at this stage while we may not have access to all the info so aren’t able to do anything more than agree with a joint statement. Cheaty are a horrible scummy administration who deserve some really bad shit to befall them - I’m prepared to exclude some/many(?) of their fans from this but the organisation is rotten and needs burning.
Another take on it… They going to write what they want
You can fuck off with any crybaby nonsense.
Coote is a cheat, pure and simple. There’s a reason why he’s been nowhere near any of our PL games for over 2 years. He exposed himself for what he is in the Goodison derby in October 2020. Since then he’s been awarded a couple of cup games against lower-league opposition and now a higher profile cup game where yet again he gave us the bare minimum. I predicted beforehand he’ll get a PL game in March against Forest or Wolves and his re-integration will be complete.
If you want to bury your head in the sand and delude yourself then knock yourself out but don’t insult those who see it for what it is.
Cootes comes from Nottingham so it might, just might be one he doesn’t get to officiate us in… Although, might also mean he will definitely get the game to referee…!
And as usual no mention of the manc scum singing about poverty and death, both things clearly audible during the second half.
Our gutless, spineless club will also keep quiet about it and it will all go round and round in circles again.
Iv been watching the Darts all week and there has been numerous singing of feed the world song aimed at Merseyside.
If our fans or any teams fans are found guilty of throwing objects into the opposing teams crowd then they should be named and the team given a suspended points deduction. The English FA have done a very good job at cutting out the hooligan scenes witnessed in the 70’s and 80’s, unfortunately, it is slowly starting to creep back in.
Watch your mouth…
With the camera technology available these days, surely it is easy enough to have plenty of them installed in the roof gantries pointing towards the crowd to cover every individual face of each supporter in the ground… anyone captured on camera even just moving their lips in sync with these vile disgusting songs should be dealt with by the police retrospectively for inciting a riot or such other criminal charges and dealt with accordingly.
The club can then deal with such supporters with a lifetime ban or similar…
“pint full of coins”? Am I being daft here or does that not make sense?
I’m just having a guess here but from the location Turing Way/Ashton Old Road, I’d say it was a Liverpool fan that was injured. There are far, far more Citoil fans walking that way and only usually a small handful of away fans. All this violence shit creeping back into the game is sickening. The general atmosphere around some games I’ve been to is enough make me consider not going. What I will say is that a lot of the ill feeling stems from so called “banter”. Too many fans want to sing mord about tye opposition than about their own teams.
