Pre- and Post - Match : Man Citeh v Liverpool, Thursday 22/12/2022 8PM (Kangaroo Cup 4th Round)

The narrative in many articles seems to state many items were thrown from the away section into the home areas… :man_shrugging:

Bottom line is that anyone with a pencil can write whatever shit they want with a bias directed into whatever catches attention from the readers… Investigation is ongoing apparently so maybe some facts will surface

The fact remains at 15 year old girl was hit in the face and needed medical attention from an object thrown by a liverpool fan. You can’t twist or change that fact, it’s disgraceful.

D, my response above was in answer to the commando post above mine where he asking a question - read his then correlate it with mine and you will see I have outlined a generic opinion of how this type of shit unfolds in the eyes of the media

Bang out of order. I hope that whoever did it it caught and prosecuted. I hope the girl is OK, and has the confidence to continue to enjoy football.

Since it is the Man City thread, I will give my view on them:

I hate that Man City have been allowed to buy the game.
I hate that they threatened the authorities and subdued them.
I hate that legally they avoided meaningful punishment and were able to dominate the CAS.
I hate their classless manager. Talented, of course, but a small man.
I hate their Chairman, and the blurring of lines between government official and football executive.
I hate their fans, especially the new breed and all their vitriol.
I hate the lack of scrutiny from the media on Man City, especially finances.
I hate that Man City have the highest commercial income in the world. Really?

It would be easy to keep going with this.

Back in the day they had Lee, Bell and Summerbee. Since then they’ve had some cult heroes along the way too. Big city. Biggish team. Decent pedigree. Some success, but not a whole lot of it. But they had their place in the footballing world, and they were fine. Good luck to them and all.

Then they won the lottery and it acted as a catalyst for the worst of everything in football to grow there.

I will never respect them, and I will never regard anything they win as having any merit.

Yes, I am a Liverpool fan, but my considered opinion goes way beyond tribalism.

I love the game, deeply, but Man City are helping to make it rotten.

This. A thousand times.
If ever a Christmas message was more on point then it must have been epic.

Got to admit I’m struggling. City doing what they are and that world cup, I’m simply losing interest. I had naff all desire to watch our game just gone. I tried for a bit and honestly lost interest in it and drifted away.

Some might say it’s down to our struggles and perhaps that’s true, but I’ve simply lost the energy to keep fighting against the tidal wave of money in the game. Lord knows how Klopp does it. I do wonder if some of our squad feel the same way? I’ve honestly got bigger priorities in my life.

The violence and accompanying bullshit only makes it worse. I hope that young girl is ok and whoever it was gets jail time. A lot of it.

Didn’t manage to catch the match, how did the teenage midfield work out in the first half?
