Pre Match: Arsenal v. Liverpool, 2015 UTC, Wednesday 16 March 2022 (Premier League)

We are having a similar issue to previous games when we aren’t playing well and that is the front 3 keeping possession. We have no real outlet where they always have the switch to either Saka or mostly Martinelli, who is roasting Trent as Trent isn’t getting any real help

Great pass that from trent.

HT, and Arsenal have looked the more dangerous, but they are yet to really test Ali yet either.

Klopp was not happy. Lets hope the message gets through second half. Arsenal have been pressing very hard. Will be interrsting to see if they have the legs to see it through, whilst we have a strong bench. Fancy us to win this still.

He’s had an awful first half.

Never like important games…when its peeing it down…we never seem to flow…

The rumors of Mane’s demise are greatly exaggerated.

Wish Bobby was fit, we need someone up front who can keep the ball and link things together, all individuals at the moment.

Very average so far. Jota way off form, Mane hit and miss, and Diaz hasn’t really sparked yet.

Been a bit of a lack lustre half that made Arsenal look better than they are. We seem to be trying to slow the game down and play around them but it’s not working. We need a more direct approach, particularly from the midfield. Hendo and Thiago havnt slid a killer pass through all night…

All square. Arteta won’t be happy with that. Bobby and Mo will tear them a new one in the last 20 :+1:

Jota is ice cold at the moment but all it takes is one and he’s white hot again.

EDIT: my commentary team is annoying keep pointing out Diaz looks “off the pace”. I don’t agree at all.

Everyone going on about Mane, how is Jota playing? I haven’t watched long and he’s given the ball away about 5 times already. Wondering why the focus on Sadio?

One of them could be hooked for Firmino if nothing changes in the next 15-20. Bobby’s link up play could open them up here if he’s on form.

they’re both talented. but who do you bench to play him? someone has to go

He shows up every now and then but he used to delivery 8/9 out of 10 performances every week, now it’s an 8 one week and a 5 the next.

At one point…Ben Wright…Xhaka…and Ramsdale all stood with hands on hips trying to drag air into the lungs…are the running out of steam?

I couldn’t agree more. And I’d personally hook Jota if this keeps going in this direction.

EDIT: lol but now that I’ve posted that it’s the reverse jinx. Jota will score.

HT 0-0:

This is a hard nut to crack. Arsenal play well to be honest. They look fresh, have more pace than our lads, and manage time and again to play through our press when in possession. Martinelli and Saka look like permanent danger with their explosive pace, Odegaard plays like a man possessed, and Partey plays the game of his life it seems.

On the other hand, our lads have defended very well, otherwise we’d be 2 or 3 nil down. But going forward, it’s not really happening for us. A few half-chances and VVD’s header saved by Ramsdale. That’s it.

I’m curious to see if Klopp changes something in our line-up. Possibly, Salah will come in soon, as Jota hasn’t really been great in the middle of the attacking line. That would allow Mané to move towards the center and exert more pressure on the center backs.

Let’s hope that Klopp finds the solution to bring his forwards more in the game than until now. Fingers crossed that we can stay tight at the back, and then nick the winning goal!

hendo been really quiet… Fab our best midfield so far…

They will have some Vimto at half time and be up for it second half… we just need to destroy their ambition with an early goal…

I hope so. Arsenal have been a bit sharper , a bit quicker into the tackle a bit quicker closing down. We have to step it up and compete a little quicker .

Mo and Naby will give us that extra energy.
