Pre Match | Aston Villa vs. Liverpool | FA Cup Third Round | Friday January 8th 19:45h GMT | Villa Park

Heard they will have to play mostly a u18s side as the u23s are in the same bubble as the first team. Wonder could we just put out our u23s side and still win easily enough

No half measures here. Either play a full-strength side or a load of reserves. Don’t want to see 4-5 first teamers run into the ground if a makeshift team are struggling to beat their under 23’s and then see the likes of Bobby and Salah subbed on. We should either go there with the intention of battering the cunts or field the ressies and see what happens.

I hope not, players need the rhythm too, it is 9 days until United, play a proper team.

I’m not worried about the game going ahead from a catching covid perspective.

The players could just as easily catch it from a non-footballing activity. Postman, amazon delivery man, their kids going to school, touching a petrol pump, going supermarkets etc etc

If were LFC id refuse to play unless the PL gives us assurances that if we catch it - just one player - we can postpone the United game.

These players should start to get some game time:

Kelleher, N Phillips, R Williams, N Williams, Origi, Minamino, Shaq, Ox, Jones

Some such as Andy shouldn’t even be in the squad.

Well would u believe it!!! Anyone of the Villa players that came in contact with 1st team, U23’s, U18’s shouldn’t even be at the ground…do not place them near our players…so which villa supporters (well known and everyday) are going to moan that we fielded a strong team, or the game shouldn’t have gone ahead… Blah blah blah.!!

Get Origi to be handy and take one for the team - he can go to a supermarket and lick some surfaces.

Testing has apparently cleared the Villa U-23s.

What a mess. Ironic that it is Villa that now has to field kids because they are compelled to play a fixture that really should not be played right now.

So the game goes ahead? Surprising. Well, let’s see what our first team does of this. Hopefully the danger of infection won’t weigh too much on the players’ minds.

Fingers crossed for a good performance!

Good way to play strikers into form though?

That worked so well with the Palace match…

I think we will also play an U23 team.

Not sure about this. If they’re all in a secure bubble (and get brutally tickled half to death for breaking said bubble) then let’s play. Need some fun in life. I can visit my grandparents any day as they’re all under stone. Wish I could zoom them.

Covid no on field tacking plan 2 touch football.

We can all rest easy, they are spraying the joint.

As long as Robbo doesn’t start chewing the corner flags again, we should be sweet, they’re obviously a covid hotspot.

I blame Taki!

Eight days till united. I expect a mix of some youth and first teams.

I would like to see them go full strength.

I just think we won’t be in the mood to embarrass some kids like Villa were to us last year but I may be wrong.

Purslow on Sky said they cant field a team tonight and the game must go ahead but they aren’t sure about the midweek and next weekend games v Spurs and Everton? The PL hasnt made a decision. Pretty obvious isnt it?

The players have to isolate for 10-14 days so they will have to field U23s in the 2 PL games as well then.
