My memory of the Tottenham debacle may be fading, but I recall that being all Degsy’s own work. Joe Gomez has not been helped at all by a midfield that has allowed Villa free run after free run.

Not surprised that some pin the blame on Gomez or Bobby, as they have been poorer than usual, but being 5-1 down, it is a collective problem in this match. Villa forced us to make the error, created chances, and somehow made almost every one of those count.

I don’t usually comment when the game is on but this one is pretty much gone. Gomez getting pelters and yeah, he’s had possibly his worst game in the shirt but Firmino is drawing most of my ire. Touch like a trampoline mostly these days and you’d probably need to stick a poker up his arse to get him to shoot anything. This slump he’s in really needs to be adressed.
Naturally, he provided the assist for Salah’s goal as I typed this so maybe not completely gone just yet. Bobby still needs a fucking rocket though.

I agree about the midfield issue but it still does not take away from how poor he has been defensively. Firmino has been atrocious too at the other end of the field.
