A Liverpool win (with convincing play, please allow me to dream) and later tonight, an epic landslide for the history books for Biden, would make tonight a fine day for the planet Earth and Magnus.
I will settle for any sort of win though as long as we don’t get new bad injuries. Our “new” defender, Phillips was a revelation last game, but we were not at all convincing against our opponents, nor were we particularly good against Midtjylland. This will be a difficult game I believe, but maybe we can use this to find top form ? I do think we will and I also think we will do enough to win.

This is the most important game of the season, well at least it will be until the next one. It’s an absolutely must win game.
Tonight we play Atalanta, of fair Bergamo, in the administrative region of Lombardy.

Speaking of learning and ingenious studies, one of the King Georges of England—I forget which—once said that a certain number of hours embroiled with the Bard—I cannot recall at the moment how many —made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory.
An uplifting thought, I’m sure you’ll all agree.
There are two firsts in tonight’s game. This, I believe, will be the first time we’ve played Atalanta; it is also the first time Rumanian, Ovidiu Haţegan has taken charge of one of our matches. So, once again, form is of no assistance in suggesting tonight’s possible outcome. However, considering the way things have gone with refs this season, irrespective of nationality, I’m not expecting any favours from him.
Among the compensations of advancing age is a wholesome pessimism, which has the admirable effect of preventing Fate from working off on us any of those tricks and unhatched chickens, at which ardent youth snatches with such enthusiasm, to its subsequent disappointment. As we emerge into our dotage we grow a habit of mind that looks askance at Fate bearing gifts. We miss, perhaps, the occasional prize, but we also avoid leaping light-heartedly into traps. Consequently:

Deserving start for Jota. Hope he’s playing through the middle/ left, and not right. Gini Hendo is nice to cover young Rhys in a game where Atalanta will come to play and attack.
3 points here and for a change we would be in a pretty good position in group stages so early which hasn’t happened for a while. Would be nice not to have those nerves during the last couple of games. Get it done please!

We’ll see how the front 3 is lined up.
By the way they typed our XI, could be Jota on the right, Mane on the left and Salah up top. Wouldn’t be so sure until I see it. Don’t think it’s Jota centrally though, so we’ll see which one of the other two options.
Was expecting Shaq, hope Jones plays a bit better than the other day.

I seriously hope that’s not the case. He didn’t look that effective from right, as much he’s from a free role down the middle or even left where he can cut back in. Salah and Mane both can play the pretty good so any of Salah-Jota-Mane or Mane-Salah-Jota (if Salah has to play from middle) should be good.

Looks like it’s more of a 3-4-1-2 tonight for Atalanta. They can variate that attack sometimes playing a 3-4-2-1.
