Hopefully we get a late pleasant surprise of having someone back, if not to start (probably), at least for the bench. I have a feeling Szoboszlai and/or Isak might be available here.
I would consider Tsimikas ahead of Kerkez, but Kerkez’s physicality away for Brentford will probably still keep him in the side. Maybe in another game. Surely in fact, because we have so many and often having Araujo at RB allows you to release the LB more in Iraola’s asymmetry.
If I could take back one thing from last season it would be that sliding tackle Gio put in on his debut. Poor lad. Another month and then MAYBE he can join team training and then another month at least before he’s match fit. Just pray he recovers fully. At least Andoni said it wasn’t a setback delaying his return, just caution.
Brentford are a good side and this will be a tough game. We are a work in progress, with injury problems, and so we will have to dig deep to grab all three points.
The European game saw some much needed upside from a few of them, so here’s hoping…
Curious to see a stat of your posts that start and end like this (with the variation of the week inserted between them), and curious to see what remedy would turn this around for you. Or, better said, looking for the satisfied fan in LondonRich, whether this version actually exists.
I am concerned about our midfield. Szoboz in next to Macca with Wirtz ahead doesn’t fill me with confidence. Its going to need crisp passing and good control.
