On a serious note, we’ve won 3 from 3 without being that good. It would be nice to put in a strong performance and beat these by more than a single goal.
Yeah, that is extremely surprising. I’d have expected him to be on the bench if fit enough, and to be introduced in the last 30 minutes or so. He’s obviously in better shape than everyone thought, but given the jet lag issue, it’s still a bit surprising.
And Slot obviously continues with his experiment of Dom at right back. Two right-backs on the bench.
On paper, it’s a good team on the pitch, with a very strong and balanced bench too. Let’s see how it pans out.
Edit: No Isak on the bench? That’s a slight surprise for me.
Feels like a side to bring out the best in Wirtz! Am looking forward to seeing him develop a better understanding with players both in front and behind him.
He was about average in his sharpness for Sweden and that was just for 15 minutes. He’s nowhere near ready for a PL away match where it’s likely to be physical.
I thought Isak would be on the bench and we would bring him on for 15 mins or whatever, to start to get up to speed. Plenty of games to come though, and I am happy with our measured approach.
Interesting to see the Szobo right back thing continue, with Bradley fit. Szobo has bossed it there, and there’s no argument here.
