Very happy with that first half to be honest, our game plan worked exactly as we wanted - squeezed the life out of them for 40 minutes and then sit off towards the end of the half and hope they come forward leaving space in behind. It’s not a coincidence what happened at the end, that move was planned.
Shame we haven’t really created anything yet but that was a very good first half tactically.

To be fair, its hard to judge if the keeper was close to the ball. He wasn’t going to be near if Mane doesn’t get rugby tackled
Here we go. Could go for Minamino coming on as well for Gini, a bit more creativity rather than industry going to be needed to break them down now.

Bad game so far. Very few real chances on both sides. If anything, Chelsea looked slightly sharper than us. One or two moves which could have ended in the back of our net. As for us, we did nothing of note.
The game-changer could of course become that red card against Kristensen. Luckily we have VAR nowadays, it’s insane that the ref didn’t take out the red card right away, as it was a clear as crystal water.
With ten men, Chelsea will let us have all the possession, so hopefully our lads can be patient, tire Chelsea down, carve out chances, and take them.
Fingers crossed for three points for us at the end of this game!

Red card won’t really change the pattern of play in this game tbh, Chelsea have already set up to play on the counter with 10 behind the ball.

Watching this and the Leeds game you can see why we’ve added a couple of attacking options. Disappointed with baby and Gini first half. Fabinho did well but makes name nervous but the second half will be v different now. Wonder if Thiago will get 30mins?!
Can we get rid of Ashley Cole…talking with a mouthful of marshmallows…trying to speak English but failing badly.

Nah get Thiago in. Won’t get a better chance, Chelsea will have to leave spaces in the midfield to reinforce the defense and he’s the guy who can exploit that to the max
