Sort of boring but effective game from us. And much needed given how much we have been open at the back recently. Shades of initial games of last season, where we used to be comfortable, composed and just do enough to win it at the end.
Fab been good so far, Salah lively as well. And nice to see VAR been used the way it was supposed to. A season late perhaps.

Chelski with all behind the ball, looking for the one chance at a counter. We’ve done well to keep the press and when they manage to beat the front press, we mop it up at the back.
Some good play, but need to get some shots on target. Definite red card, with Sadio prime poisiton to control and just nudge it past the onrushing keeper. They took a red over being a goal down.
The red card won’t change at all Chelski’s play. They keep playing the same way. We should hunt and probe, keep going, and a goal should come. Chelski will just look for that one chance that will inevitably come. We just need to play smart. Sub Alcantara on at 60 min for Keita. Get a goal around the 80th minute mark, and come away with a win.

In terms of chances created, they were better than us. That’s what I meant with sharp. I haven’t seens stats of the game, so I could be wrong, but that’s how it appeared to me.
Luckily, Fabinho has dealt very well with Werner so far.
Solid performance so far.
Mo looking best of lot.
Fabinho performing like a top class centre back.
They are going to play everyone behind the ball, looking for a quick break. I wish we had bought a midfielder that can unlock defences with accurate attacking passes.
Let the team play, check after 15 mins to see how we doing, then utilize that tasty looking bench if needed.

Kepa is like the FIFA bug, comes out of his line for no reason. The Salah one in particular.
Maybe Christiansen doesn’t hold Mane if he knew the keeper was useless anyways?

Chelsea just looked sharper in a few counter moves , because they let us have possession most of the half and tried to force something on the break. They pretty much played 541 here.
