Gomez gets an injury, so Matip can step in…to the treatment table with him. Quelle surprise.

Would’ve liked VVD and Gomez together to counter the pace by Chelski. Suppose we’ll drop a little deeper. but at least the play from the back should be good.

Who are their CBs?

That’s what I thought.

Hey - I like pop tarts

If it’s by one goal we’re going to win, I know who I want to score that one.

Clue… the song stuck in my mind for two days :yum:

There’s something that the Kop wants you to knowwwwww…

Are you? We are playing Chelsea, a massive match in Matchday 2 and we starting our 4th choice CB, which came out of seemingly nowhere. I see people discussing the merits of such a proposition. I get it tho, your term “shitting the bed” seems much cooler and sensational, but I’m just not seeing the same posts you are. :man_shrugging:

another 7-5 game. chelsea defense looks shit as well

Someone on the Thiago thread introduced Fab as our new CB. Any chance they could do the lottery numbers for us? Did Joe and Matip breathe on each other? We know Matip is made from biscuits but Gomez seems to come out in sympathy. We really need another CB - preferably built from titanium.

Anyway, on to today’s business. Team looks strong enough and there is a chance that we may see Thiago.

Klopp probably read them the riot act after the Leeds game so hopefully our defence is tighter.

As long as we win though
