I expect an attritional game, lots of play acting, hopefully no injuries, and a moment or two of Liverpool quality shining through for us to edge it. I’d love to see a Barcola goal and for him to feel the love of the crowd from the off.

Anyone thinking Wirtz will be benched over next few weeks is mistaken. The idea is to work him into the patterns and get the other players to tune to his specific talents. Iraola likes what Wirtz can do.

Agreed, especially with how unsettled he looked as a RW. I figured Rio was set for a return against Fulham or against Spurs. But I won’t complain - Rio hasn’t started since the opening weekend and didn’t even get a sub appearance against Ipswich. I think giving him the start in the UCL is a great way to demonstrate confidence in him.

I do enjoy the CBS Studio show here. Kate Scott, Henry, Carra, and Micah all work really well together. Henry is fairly insightful, though I think he’s best as the comedic straight man next to the jokers in Carra and Micah. Micah is great with comic relief, especially.
