Pre-Match | Eintracht Frankfurt (A) | CL - 22/10/2025 - 8pm

Think we’ve talked the United debacle to death.

Next up Ekitikes old mob in the CL…

Id really like to see

4-3-3 with Wirtz behind Isak and Ekitike.

Right now we’re in a period when the level of competition or opposition doesn’t even matter, we have to win a game as soon as possible and restore some stability.

What I’m sure I’d like to see is Jones to start (ideally in for Mac, or Gravenberch if his ankle is not right). And Ekitike ahead of Isak. It could also be a good game for Wirtz to get some confidence.

Please no moves like Frimpong at RW & Szobo at RB, we don’t have to go that far with changes and become the messy Liverpool of 14/15.

Just saying they are on 18 goals conceded in 7 games, this I feel is going be very open.

Most important match of the season!
A must win!

The least one can say is that Frankfurt aren’t very stable at the back. The sequence of their last five games reads LWLLD. They scored 12 goals, and got a whopping 18 goals at the back, albeit against some strong opposition at times. Their last result is a 2-2 at Freiburg.

In normal times, I’d back our forwards to inflict a heavy defeat on them, even though it’s an away game. As it stands, we look fragile at the back, and not very clinical in front of goal. That’s not a good mixture. Who knows how that one will pan out… let’s hope for a much-needed win in order to get the confidence back as soon as possible. :crossed_fingers:

Sounds like we are playing us from a few years back.

To be fair we’ve not faced the easiest of sides. In fact yesterday were probably the worse.

Presser scheduled for 19:30 BST tomorrow:

Slot can easily make 5 changes and if at least three aren’t actually made for this game then I have to question his ability to make difficult decisions over reputation.

Smash us, we’re shit.

Assume from his comments he will start Wirtz, then you are looking at Jones in my view and Hugo that alone is 3 without even going to the more unlikely ones he won’t do but you feel he should.

Is personally what I’d go for, but it’s never gonna happen so who cares.

Still bummed out over Leoni too, would’ve loved to seen him more in games like this.

Gomez and Chiesa need to play for sure

It wouldn’t surprise me to see changes here and then him reverting to more or less the same XI as before for Brentford , citing workload or some other bollocks.

Chiesa and Ekitike must start. Salah has to be dropped unfortunately, but it’s like playing with 10 men lately. Slot must sort out the full backs, it’s the cause of most of the problems so far.

Would like to see a Jones, Dom and Wirtz midfield, and for those 3 to play within the same postcode if possible.

Yeah that the absolute bare minimum. I would really like to add Chiesa and Frimpong to that starting lineup.

I’d play Robbo, if Gomez plays he should be playing in the centre as rotation.

Poor Gomez, or poor us, eh?

A versatile defender on the bench, with some underperforming defenders in multiple positions in defence… not being used.

We’re probably too scared to give him a game in the hope of a better performance after which he would stay in the team for a few games in a row… and might break down with another injury.

I also liked the look of Leoni, but dear me, we are really thin in terms of healthy, quality competition at CB.
