Considering I’m the only one to achieve a win recently I’ll set this up.
Plus there isn’t much to discuss about tonight.
Oh and their win over Chelsea was their first in 5 games. Their form isn’t much better but being at home should help them, though at this moment it seems a blessing for us.
Are we ok to say before the game kicks off “if we go into HT 0-0, that’s perfectly fine?” Or is that only allowed if it’s actually 0-0 with 44 mins on the clock?
I mean they did just beat Chelsea there, maybe we can use that as an excuse to say a 0-0 is even perfectly fine come the final whistle, who knows.
0-0 is fine if you’re a Palace or Brentford playing these sides, we’re supposed to be the champions of England. We haven’t turned in a single champions worthy performance since.
0-0 against us at HT only gives them more encouragement, it’s absolutely far from fine. It’s shocking and it’s becoming a habit we’re accustomed to and it’s costing us dearly….but you’re somehow both blinded by and ok with that.
Forget about being Champions of England. Forget about what we’re ’supposed’ to do. We are clearly not that team right now.
You accuse me of being blinkered, but you’re the one who seems to think we should be rolling teams on nothing more than swagger and aura.
The actual habit we had got into was being down and out in games before half time. That’s the immediate priority right now.
There needs to come a time when this isn’t enough - when we brush teams aside, and absolutely dominate games, but you can’t just click your fingers and manifest that. You have to build back to it.
The immediate short term priority has to be to just stop the bleed. It’s really a matter of looking for your staging posts in games. Get through the first five. Then ten. Then fifteen.
Prior to West Ham this team had conceded ten goals in three games. Every opener within the first half hour. I don’t think it’s accidental that we’ve looked to play a very tight first thirty and grow from there.
At least Leeds wont play a low block. Their approach should actually play into our hands. They’ll pour men forward and leave themselves open to the counter.
That said they’ve put 5 past City and Chelsea in the last 2 games so we’ll have to defend better than we have done recently.
This could be a fucking headcase of a game.
If we win will you leave the board and never return?
And if we indeed do lose 4-0 I will leave and never return.
Your posts are tiring, rein it in just a little. I don’t think Slot should continue beyond this season and if there was a replacement then I’d be 100% for it but I dunno what that replacement is bar the obvious and I just don’t see him coming back and if he did I’d hope it was a bit more of a smash glass and hope situation.
Problem I have is Salah is effectively at the point where he unsettles us. If he was flexible we might get somewhere but with Gakpo probably out (I assume that’s what led to the sub) he will instead of going like for like he will shift Wirtz over and let Salah do his headless chicken act into whoever is playing there for Leeds.
Rio has had the criticism but I’d rather we plan for the future and give him game time.
