'It’s different to the Nike ball so we have to adapt to it’published at 18:59 British Summer Time

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, speaking to Sky Sports: "I haven’t seen it [the goal] back yet. Disappointed not to save it like every goal you concede. I think it’s a hell of a strike. I remember the ball moving a lot and moving away from me. Hopefully, the next one I can save.

“It’s a very good strike especially with the new balls and everything. We still have to adapt. It’s going away from me so it’s harder to gauge and save it.”

On the new Puma ball: "It’s different to the Nike ball so we have to adapt to it. The grip is different, the kick is different. We just have to adapt after playing with the Nike ball for many years. It’s the same for everybody.

"We wanted to go forward to attack them, to keep them quiet in the first half. We showed a lot of character to keep Liverpool quiet. You have to take the positives from it. It’s fine margins and a magical moment from them.

“We haven’t been beaten from the top six clubs in many games. There are a lot of steps forward to take and learn in every single aspect. There’s always things you have to learn.”

Talking about defending, how good were we on defending their biggest threat … set pieces.

'All the guys are on the same page’published at 19:01 British Summer Time

Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Obviously, that was a really important game for us.

“Arsenal - nine points today. It was a tough game. We don’t have many chances to score. Dominik [Szoboszlai] scored an amazing free-kick. We have to say thank you to him. It is still the start of the season, and we are going to have the international break, and we have to come back and be on the same page.”

On joining Liverpool: "It has been fast. The boys did well to introduce me into the team. I am very comfortable. It gave me so much confidence here, and I feel like I can score every game.

“It means a lot. It is about mindset - all the guys in this team are on the same page. We work together, that is why we make the differences in the games when it is difficult.”

It wasn’t a poor first half

Suggestion for new rule of football: if a team is wasting time for 82 minutes, don’t let them have 8 minutes of extra time.

Boring, boring Arsenal.

It bloody annoyed me, maybe a rewatch would tell me differently just felt we kept giving it back to them.

I thought that we were overly cautious and tentative in the first 45. Once we actually started playing, we showed that we’re clearly the better team. What a goal to win it too, Szoboszlai has been immense so far.

Really, really happy with how we defended too; After the silly goals conceded in the first couple of matches, we needed to step up and by God we did that and then some. Kerkez and especially Konate needed a good performance and they delivered. And Gomez once again from the bench. He’s been a true servant to the club.

All in all, a most gratifying win.

P.S. It really looks like we have a huge opportunity to retain the title, so let’s not pass this up. Plug the 2 holes in the squad please.
