Our season starts in the League cup with what is rumoured to be a much changed side (we’ll Slot confirmed it), it will be interesting to see the new guys who haven’t played under the lights at Anfield.

I don’t think there’s an ounce of concern over his confidence.
Suspect we may see him involved but mainly so we give Dom and Mac a bit of a breather and Jones is coming back from injury.

Yeah if he’s fit and not getting minutes here I’d suggest he’s gone in January.
If Chiesa doesn’t get at least 30 mins in this one, then no-one will be able to convince me that he hasn’t been caught shagging Slot’s mum/sister/daughter/wife.

Well Salah isn’t playing and nethier is Gakpo so you are going from
Isak, Hugo, Chiesa, Rio and Danns
In that selection he has to start for me. Switch Hugo over to centre after Isak has played his 45-60 and bring Rio on that’s how I would go with it. And if you want to rest Hugo you can go centrally with Danns.
Looking forward to seeing Leoni. Isak will also play, as he builds up his match fitness. He will probably share the game with Danns. Chiesa is a very good pro and he should play and I expect him to do well.
We have a great back up team and it will be a major surprise if we do not advance.

I don’t see the likes of Rhys Williams and Danns being used. We have enough first teamers who need game time, get into rhythm.

I’d be tempted to leave Isak out of this one and stick Will Wright or Figueroa on the bench instead. But starting three is surely Chiesa, Ekitike and Ngumoha.
