As much as Ekitike has impressed so far he needs to work on his headers thats 3 he should have scored from.
Well done Chiesa. He is working his way up the pecking order, to at least be considered for more minutes. He is looking sharper and fitter, while the quality has always been there. Salah should not be nailed on for the full 90 every time, and Chiesa should see a bit of that, in my opinion. Maybe even some of Gakpo’s time.
Leoni - ugh. I hope he’s ok. They might need to rethink the astroturf strip around the perimeter, as it seems slick and way too hard. Hopefully he’s ok. I saw him bang his head but then when they strapped his knee up it made me wonder if he jarred that, or worse.
Ekitike - he has made a great start to his Liverpool career. Still, that was stupid tonight. No need. Slot will have a word. And hopefully the player himself will own it, quickly, and apologize to his teammates, because his absence will hurt us against Palace, as Isak can’t do 90 yet.
Endo - not the sort of header you want to see from a seasoned pro! He’s normally excellent in the air too.
We won. We are through. That’s the main thing. But it was not without its issues.
