Liverpool without NINE first-team players against Wolves on Saturday:
*Wirtz (injury)
Gakpo (injury)
*Gomez (injury)
*Bradley (injury)
Endo (injury)
Isak (injury)
Leoni (injury)
Salah (AFCON)
Szoboszlai (suspended)
What’s the Wirtz injury? I thought he was just subbed as a time wasting move.
I don’t think nothing’s been announced over Wirtz, but he stopped during a sprint in a counter attack, holding his hamstring.
The pre-match press conference is at 09:00 GMT tomorrow (23.12.2025):

I’ll be picking my son up from Bremen at that time, so I will catch up on the festive cheer later on.
Slot only mentioned Isak and Bradley post game and explained Frimpong which suggests the Wirtz thing wasn’t anything.
If Bradley isn’t available and Slot was more hopeful then Ramsey has to play there.
Thankfully we can start using valid excuses now.
On the plus side we’re positively spoiled for choice at left back.
fuck, ive only just remembered Wirtz pulled up.
is he definately out for this one?
i know we are having a compromised season and theres a lot of self inflicted issues, but some of the external factors at play really stack up against us, teams peaking in time to play us, omen breakers in games against us etc etc…
Stop it….bit let’s all admit the thought has crossed our minds.
If we lose or draw I am on a self imposed ban from here until the next win for my own mental health. Better still mods shut it down for a few days.
But won’t be needed, just can’t happen despite the challenging period.
Chiesa and Macca on the scorecard.
We still have enough despite all the outs.
Non you didn’t remember, you was reminded
.
Which is better to than me as I didn’t even see or notice it so I just found out
.
No issue with Wirtz, did think the fact he didn’t mention mention him post match suggested he was.
Gakpo and Bradley 50/50
Give us a win. COYR YNWA

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA

Slot’s presser:
Alexander Isak will be out for “a couple of months” after suffering a broken leg in the victory over Tottenham on Saturday.
Isak underwent surgery on Monday for a fibula fracture after Spurs defender Micky van de Ven challenged and subsequently injured the striker as he scored. Slot said: “This was for me a reckless challenge. I’ve said a lot about the tackle from Xavi Simons [on Virgil van Dijk] which was unintentional and I don’t think you’ll ever get an injury out of that, but the tackle from Van de Ven - if you make it 10 times, then 10 times there’s a serious chance a player gets a serious injury.”
Conor Bradley was also substituted through injury after the first half against Spurs and will not train with the squad before Friday. Cody Gakpo is in a “similar” situation with both players to be assessed before the weekend.
Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo remain unavailable for selection.
On the pile up of injuries, Slot said: “Most of the injuries we have are not due to overloading, if you look at Isak and same with Wata [Endo]. But one or two might be due to overloading - Cody Gakpo with his muscle injury and Joe Gomez.”
Teenager Rio Ngumoha is one of Liverpool’s 14 current available outfield players who have played in the Premier League this season: “For his age, he’s had the most minutes of all 17-year-olds in the Premier League. That tells you how much playing time he gets and how special he already is. It also tells something about his quality. It’s not completely normal for a 17-year-old to have so much playing time as he has had.”
Slot continued: “It also tells you about the availability in those areas. But for the weekend, that position is not my biggest concern. Cody [Gakpo] can play there and hopefully he will be back. Federico [Chiesa] and Florian [Wirtz] can play. If Rio was playing in a different position, he would have had more chances.”
On whether he plans to recall Harvey Elliott from his loan at Aston Villa: “No, Harvey is an Aston Villa player and he is supposed to be going there for a year. If the question is about him, the best thing to ask is at Villa, who are doing quite well by the way.”
Wolves have picked up just two points from the 51 available so far but Slot believes they are getting closer to their first victory: “The results throughout the whole season haven’t been what they were hoping for. But they have come closer and closer to results. They were very close to a result at Arsenal. As always, there is a challenge in every Premier League game and it’s the same in this one.”
So Rio needs to convert to a right back.
We’re going to lose because Wolves have to win at some point and it might as well be against us.
Is that it?
Hmmm… worst team of the league by far comes in town, surely super-motivated and determined to play their best game of the year. We have barely eleven players to put on the pitch because of all the injuries. What could possibly go wrong?

“Hardly put out an 11”
Basically the only major issue is right back again.
Bajcetic also.
