Incredibly emotional.

Soooo, let me get this straight.

Since Monday when I last payed any attention we may have lost Konate and now Chiesa has been banished to train on his own at a time when we were already down to the bare bones?

Well the tweet I saw linked to a Dutch twitter account that had no posts and 11 followers.

Regardless of how little he has played even that tweet sounded bollocks frankly.

For reference same account is banging on about Slot attending Gakpo’s house for Christmas.

It’s total horseshit and it doesn’t make it any more true with a blue tick.

I think the tweet suggested Chiesa is doing extra work on his fitness over Christmas. Nothing to do with being ‘banished’.

I posted the tweet as a joke, which is how I think it was meant. Chiesa is in Slot’s bad books, and that’s why I posted it. I don’t think Chiesa is actually training today. :joy:

Well, when it comes to Gakpo, they may be right. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Smash on!

With all the injuries I am expecting a tough match. Unfortunately, all the ones who have made their mind up on Slot will be foaming at the mouth if we have to dig deep and fight for this one. In good times it would be an easy win, but in bad times it will be a struggle. We are in bad times but that will be beyond some reds to understand, and they will just talk about how the performance level is lacking.

Three points will be the end result.

The Slot out brigade will sharpen their knives. Wolves are crap. We huffed and puffed. Bwaaark! Slot is out of his depth.

The wait and see brigade will be happy with the three points, but not the performance, which will be disjointed. They will understand that this is part and parcel of digging out of a hole, especially with injuries and other factors working against us right now.

Three points, hovering around the CL spots in spite of all the challenges we have faced? That will be decent news for some, even if the season is something of a struggle.

For others they will see it as proof positive that Slot needs to go. And besides, he partied with Wayne Linker in Ibiza at the end of last season, so he can do one.

2-0 Liverpool. Wirtz and Ekitike.

Just getting this in there now, so we know what will happen :joy:

Wow, 68 posts on this prematch thread. Brimming with confidence, we are

Excuses coming in early.
Need three points but more importantly we have to play much better and dominate the worst team in the league at Anfield.

Side quest
Score two goals in the first half. Something we didn’t manage to do in over 3 months.

I’m not sure if it was reported elsewhere, but Jota’s family will be at the game with two of his children as mascots:

I expect that there won’t be a dry eye in the stadium, but this is a nice move from both clubs and will help the kids in the long term. Memories like this are precious.

Should be an easy win, but we are really down to the bare bones. That shouldn’t be forgotten.

I’ll go with a routine, low incident 2-0 and something for everyone - progress/professional job/three points for the optimists; boring game/should be smashing these/no plan for the pessimists.

In reality, the task today is get the points with as little exertion as possible, mitigate against any more injuries, and don’t the occasion get the better of us.

5 in the second half will do me however 7 goals would be good .

These gave Arsenal a fright.
Im going 1-1 or 0-0 due to our injured players and them having nothing to lose.

Anything less than a win is totally unacceptable.

And @RedOverTheWater

I’m not foaming at the mouth or sharpening knives. I’m being realistic. Whether Slot is here at end of season depends very much on how we manage games like this. We have to win. I don’t fucking care how, but we have to win.

Gakpo will surely start over Rio even if Gakpo is not fully fit…

As it’s 3 pm…take it…its not on tv…

I don’t think we can use injuries - however much they mount up - as an excuse here. We’re at home against Wolves who have only two points for a reason!

Nothing that happens today will have any bearing on what I think about Slot.
