Pre-match | Liverpool v Atletico Madrid | CL Match day 4 | Wednesday November 3rd 20:00 | Anfield

Glad to see Tsimikas get a start. This slugfest should be right up his street. I hope Klopp has told the Ox to keep it simple and sit in. If he starts wandering upfield and turning over possession we will be in trouble.

Please let us beat , or at least not lose to , these horrible bastards.

Like that team and it is correct to field Tsimas ahead of Robertson in this moment in time . Robertson usually well ahead of him, but our man is out of form right now and probably needs to find that form in a few training sessions.

Wonderful to have Fabino back. He is a key-player for us. Oxlaide, which I have said many times used to be one of my fav players, a slight surprise, but I would love nothing more than for him to find good form. Itā€™s so sad that he has never been able to return to pre-injury form. This is probably his last chance (meaning this season, not this game) to find that; if he ever will.

I actually got the impression from start of the training video that Jurgen was having an ā€œintenseā€ conversation with Jones. If not injured then Morton has taken his place for this game at least.

Good to see some lads having a chanceā€¦ make the most of it!

We donā€™t usually get the team news until an hour before kick off. Has TIA got someone in the dressing room?

No Gomez either lads

CL team sheets normally come out sooner, PL games always 1hr.

Was missing from Tuesday training.

Bit of a blow with Jones not even on the bench.

Ox wonā€™t last more than 60 minutes in a game like this, so weā€™ll need someone.

Either Thiago or Bobby and then potentially flip to a double-six.

Agree in principle and yet, what he used to be actually good at, is what you want him not to do. Imo, given our points in the group, I would like him to actually try what you donā€™t want him to do. If he ever is to return to form, and as stated above this is probably his last season with us to do so (or we will most likely sell him), then he might need to play bravely despite the risk, given this is not a game where there is a complete crisis if we drop points.
Just my opinion, our coaches may differ and agree with you.

Atleticoā€™s bench looks pretty thin/weak tonight.

Jones didnā€™t appear to be injured, when he came off on Saturday and thereā€™s been nothing in the media either. I can only assume heā€™s done something in training, as I donā€™t think heā€™d be dropped from the match day squad.

I think Thiago is slated to be substituted on for Oxlaide in the second half, unless we get early injuries.

Hmm, I hope you are wrong. At the same time, I donā€™t want him to be injured. If we are lucky, he has a loose stomach or something similar and itā€™s not muscular or disciplinary.

I doubt that Klopp would rather have two goalkeepers on the bench instead of another midfielder.

Fabinho and Thiago are back so chances are that Jones got injured.

Jones and Tsimi in a fight. :joy:

Even if Jones was to be ā€˜droppedā€™ I doubt Klopp would have not even had him on the bench. It has to do with an injury in all probability.

Fab Hendo and Ox is a more balanced midfield and Ox can have the freedom to be more attacking. Robbo getting a much needed rest and Matip back was expected. Looking for for Thiago to get some time as well.

Strong line up and the team will be up for it after the Brighton game. Hope itā€™s an entertaining game as our CL games at Anfield usually are! And no injuries please.
