As our forwards couldn’t score a goal even if their lives depended on it, we really needed that late header from Fabinho. Phew…
Apart from that goal, it was the identical scenario to our game against Arsenal. A lot of domination, but nothing really dangerous to show for it. Brentford must have watched the game on Thursday and told themselves that if Arsenal could keep us out with ten men, they could do it with eleven… Until the 44th minute, it worked perfectly, but they were undone by poor defending on a corner.
Let’s hope that our lads can now capitalise on the fact that Brentford will have to open up a bit. That should in theory open up space for our forwards to exploit. But can they still score goals? Do they still know how to do it?
Jurgen needs to kick some arses. It’s like watching the Keystone Kops at times.
The chance of scoring from a corner (average of all teams) is about 2%. 1 in 50.
Every match thread there’s a dozen boring posts about how shite we are at corners. Yet we have scored more goals from set pieces over last couple of seasons than any other team
I see that Rafa has been sacked. What a short-sighted club.
