Pre-match: Liverpool v Brentford, Saturday 6th May, 17:30

You might never hear Michael Owen’s voice again. Could you live with that?

We matched them physically all half, ref is a useless twat and doing his best to get them a goal.

One thing I don’t get is why the linesman didn’t just pick that offside up without having to go to VAR. Do they just not do their job anymore?

Need to have Gakpo up front and a real midfielder in midfield. That probably means Nunez being taken off.

Stop start to the game, as per the game plan by Brentford. They are looking for those interruptions, and soft free kicks to get their set piece game going.

Those 30 second throw ins are doing my head in. First faff around until the long throw player eventually gets the ball. Then he feigns every time to take a short throw. Then he finally does what he intended to from the start to wind back to launch one. Then 40 seconds after the initial throw, the ball is back in play.

confidence through the floor atm - needs one to go in off his arse!

he’s making the right runs tbf, just lacking the composure

Won’t happen but if we get a couple more I’d love to see Carvalho come on in that 10 role for the last 15-20.

Brentford are a tricky side. Physical, long ball set play sort of outfit. We are standing up to that with our own physicality.

Not a great half from us, but we are in the lead, and we had other chances.

Hopefully we score the first goal of the second half and then it will look that much better. It’s a bit of a war of attrition, and we are on top 1-0. It won’t be silky every week, and that’s an important aspect to have in the locker.

Somehow I’ll soldier on

His expected goals is about 3rd or 4th in the league. That’s despite missing a lot of minutes. He will only need a small improvement, which is something to be expected, for him to explode. Even in a game where he hasnt looked good, he’s found himself in 2 really good goal scoring positions. Brentford cannot handle him.

He did. He flagged after the play was over, which is what they’re instructed to do on the tight ones. The VAR was merely confirming what the lino had already indicated.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 122 Premier League matches when leading at half-time.

A little overstated

The ref might as well ware a Brentford kit.

Toney perfectly allowed to collide into our keeper when he has both hands on the ball?

Filthy from Jones.

Not bad from Toney either tbh.

Milner/Henderson for Nunez…

Need a midfielder on, this formation isn’t working, they have all the time in the world to find the long pass.

Back to normal with our midfield
