Pre-match: Liverpool v Nottingham Forest, Saturday 22nd April, 15:00

Whilst its not been terrible.

Nunez, Diaz on for the second half would be nice, maybe Thiago for Jones.

Lots of last ditch fouls given on the edge of the box now. I dont like the “totting up” approach to booking players, but its clearly a tactic and the ref needs to start doing more than just giving a yellow

Done well back there has Neco.

Forest content to play in their own half until we score, which we would have done save for Neco Williams.

yikes, Navas in the form of his life against us

A lot of sideways and back passing, off the line clearance by Neco otherwise not much else to report.

Get Darwin Nunez on and watch them panic.

Just seen today’s fixtures.

Look where we have ended up this season…with the nobodies

Fulham 2 Leeds United 1
Brentford 0 Aston Villa0
Crystal Palace 0 Everton0
Leicester City 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers1

lot of sideways and back passing,…

Exactly !

Ok first half, we’ve created some good situations just a few miscues or poor touches - Jota’s backpost header and Trent’s heavy touch both come to mind immediately.

We’ve shown we can get through this Forest team, just a bit more patience needed.

We also have Diaz and Nunez on the bench.

No need to get panties in a twist just yet. We’ve been ok, need to turn it up a bit in the second half.

Patience is key. Could have been at least a goal up (especially the Jota header). No need to panic. Concentrate opening to second half needed, then eventually the pressure on Forest should lead to a goal.

Can’t see Forest holding out with the same tactic second half, especially with the quality we have on the bench.

We’ve been a bit static at times with the ball, need more movement for a few passes between the lines, or forward to feet.

Trent’s been pinging some lovely balls around.

Game exposed the technical limitations of Hendo in that role high up the right side.
Would be a great fit for a CM who can turn and run with the ball

It’s a nice change to have a 3pm Sat kick off to be fair. The 12.30 kick offs are a pain.

its very unlikely that we will score from open play and forest will continue to sit deep so either we score from a set play and we go on to win 3-4 nill or they score on a counter most likely 0-0 , diaz might be a the key in the last 15-20 min

We’re also getting a surprising number of touches in their box for a team that is defending so deep. There have been 3 or 4 times we were a tiny fraction away from the sort of desperate challenge that produces enough contact for a penalty. Forrest are doing what they can, but to me it doesnt look sustainable if we can maintain this intensity

Smart tactics by Cooper. Man marking Trent everywhere, and making midfield beat them. Fabinho been best in midfield first half, and that is not a positive.

According to Klopp , he cant speak English and not very good in counter press because he runs a lot but not intelligently

Perhaps we need a forward who could take advantage of all these touches in the box. Someone who is a CF. I think that guy is sitting on the bench.

Against sides like Forest at home who’ll just sit in you need your attacking players with flair as you’re gonna have about the 739% ball possession anyway. Our biggest 2 chances have come from set plays from Trent, open play there’s been very little there.
