Pre Match: Liverpool v. Tottenham Hotspur, 1945 BST (UTC +1), Saturday 07 May 2022 (Premier League)

I suppose I love seeing progressive coaches not ones that trademark is sit back give over possession to be good on the break and winning in Italy isn’t that great, poor league atm

Conte with 7 days to prepare. Five at the back.

Thier front three conserving energy by not pressing up front. They as predicted are just trying to pass out with a few passes, then a ball over the top to get Son or Kulusevski for a three on three. But our hustle as prevented them from doing much at all.

For us, we’ve carved out a few opportunties, but need to keep going. A goal may come late on. While they just hoping for that one chance for a sucker punch. KOnate or VVD header looking like a good way to open the scoring.

Yep, perfectly fair and valid. I prefer the same, but I can still recognise when a coach knows how to win with their preferred system, even if that system is turgid shite.

Mourinho won with a similar anti-football approach, so did Simeone. Awful to watch, but I bet you their fans didn’t care when they were winning leagues.

not gonna be a lot of chances, so important we make the right decisions in the final third…

Agreed. We just have to improve our decision making in the final third.

Jurgen normally has the boys come out for the second half. Solve those problems in the dressing room, come out and show them that the best busses only make the EL.

Yikes, Tottenham is so defensive! We had 5 attempted shots and the spuds only has 2…

HT 0-0:

Our lads are facing a white concrete block tonight. Five players at the back at all times, midfield crowded out, it’s difficult to go through. I can’t remember one clear chance apart from VVD’s header on the bar from a corner, and a shot from Diaz from a long way out.

On the other hand, Tottenham manage to get out at times, and their pace hurts us every time then. That shot on the outside of the post from Hojbjaer could have gone in, fortunately it didn’t.

It will be hard until the end, and it’s hard to see who comes out as a winner. Hopefully we’ll get set pieces, then we can maybe break them down from one of them. Also, Tottenham should get tired towards the end, then our forwards will maybe get their clear chances, and score from them. Fingers crossed for three further points tonight, lads and ladesses! :crossed_fingers:

well said @PeachesEnRegalia. their whole game plan is to force us to over commit and then fuck us on the counter… patience is key here

My wife is very excited that she spotted John Barnes. Aside from that I wouldn’t fault that half except for not scoring. I’m not sure what Klopp will pick out but its a case of keep going.

Excellent first half we played really well now finish them off in the second half.

Hjolbergs shot if inside the post would have been saved by Ali, in fact it looked like he was close or may have got the faintest of touches on the shot

Jurgen will tell them the same, but he can only do so much from the sideline. If desperation starts setting in, we could fuck ourselves over. Need a goal or two to put us in the driver’s seat. Spurs will have come looking for the draw, or a shithouse 0-1 from a counter.

Something has to change at this point. Robbo is looking a bit fatigued, eh?
