Another clue about Trent’s future, maybe.

I think that’s perhaps reading a little too much into it. Even with Alexander-Arnold not leaving, Bradley would quite obviously need to take the next step to get more gametime.

I haven’t watched the press conference yet but it also does make me wonder if there’s some truth to the mental health theory, especially if his partner and child aren’t in Liverpool.

This is the BBC summary:

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

  • He said Sunday’s game is a “big responsibility” because “a job still needs to be done” in order to be crowned Premier League champions.

  • On the party feeling: “We need at least one point. That is what we know and, hopefully, what our fans know as well when they come to the stadium that they support us in the best possible way. It’s a nice game to look forward to.”

  • He said becoming the 12th manager - and first Dutchman - to win the title with Liverpool “is the last thing that is on your mind” at this stage and added: “I am not getting carried away.”

  • On whether he believed he could achieve this in his debut season: “You know the expectations that this club has to win trophies. Most managers worked here for a long time so you get a lot of chances to win something. You are aware of it but that’s not the first thing you think about when you walk through the door.”

  • Conor Bradley could be available to start and play the full 90 minutes if he gets through the final two training sessions with no issues.

  • More on Bradley: “We are also taking very good care of him because he’s had two similar injuries.”

  • On comments that the Premier League has been weaker this season: “It’s never been as exciting for a top four or five finish. In the other years it’s been quite clear who would finish there. In my opinion it’s a really difficult league. That’s my experience as there has never been an easy game.”

  • Defender Joe Gomez is expected to return “for the last game or two if his recovery goes as planned”.

  • On reports that Liverpool will have to pay Benfica another five million euros for Darwin Nunez if he makes a 10th start: “Do you always believe what journalists say? Sometimes it is better not to believe everything that is written. That is new to me. It might be true but Richard [Hughes] would never interfere with the line up and tell me who I can and cannot play.”

I wish that LFC would give microphones to the journalists during these pressers. I struggle with close captions enough as it is.

I’d rather we didn’t have press conferences at all, as it used to be. Sadly, those days are long gone.

I think that was a little slip from Slot. He said the next step for his development was to play 90s week in week out. He then backtracked a bit and said that would be hard because the club have two great right backs.

Fair enough, but if Alexander-Arnold had 4 years remaining on his contract people wouldn’t be saying the same even if Arne had used the exact same words.

It’s no secret that the next step for the development of younger players in general is playing 90s week in week out…

Can’t begin to explain how excited I am for Sunday. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as possible. Even if it doesn’t end up being the point that we need, playing with the league title on the line is a joy.
I’m guilty of never wearing red to the ground for premier league games but will be making an exception on the captains orders.

Bradley should play as many minutes possible for me. Would love to see Chiesa get minutes too so that everyone in the match day squad can feel like it’s theirs.

Will set the alarm clock to get up for the 3:30am kick off and have a warm cup o tea in my fave Liverpool cup before watching the football feast we put on then wake all my neighbours when the final whistle goes and we start singing championes, championes nanananana and may be a little tear when the kop sings YNWA.

It would be lovely to get ahead early and enjoy it. Not go behind and start in the second half!

Be a bit like a cup tie where a draw is enough.

I’ve lost 10 years supporting the reds. Wouldn’t change a thing.

-1 point deduction for every pitch invader (apparently MU and Arse supporters are buying up tickets).
