Arsenal are under more pressure than us to get a result. It would be fantastic to get 3 points, but if we get draw, I am ok with that.

Good inclusion of the referee caveat.

If Andoni picks players that make us play better, then for me Trey gets the nod over Grav, however, if it is about nulifying Arsenal then Grave may start with his height for set pieces.

Defence picks itself, up top, I would have thought Andoni, would have gone with Gakpo and BB out wide, again cos of their height and the work they do helping us defensively, but with Gakkers playing 90 midweek I’m not sure.

Anyway, go out there give it your all and kick some arse.

I was checking to see if the match was on for the last 15 minutes and I was flicking through all the sports channels to find it.

Then, i saw the thread title, the match is on tomorrow. :see_no_evil_monkey: :woman_facepalming:t4:

It will be a very tough game. Arsenal are stocked with good players and they give very little away. The overall shame about them is the manner in which Arteta deploys his resources, as they have it in them to play great football, but instead they are happy to depend on set pieces and scrapping it out on the margins of the rules. It won them the league last time, so they won’t care. My regard for Arsenal has plummeted and I suspect lots of fans of other teams feel the same.

On our end we are starting to play better and we look like we are at the beginning of getting a good thing going. We haven’t had enough reps for me to be completely confident, but the signs have been encouraging. Our press is better, our fight and desire is much better, the defence is solid, or more solid than it was, and there are signs that the attack is linking up, which augurs well.

The midfield is still not firing on all cylinders, and I slightly fear Arsenal being able to play though us, but let’s see what happens.

A win would have us in touching distance of the lead, and while I might be getting ahead of myself if I said we were in a title race, it would make for an interesting situation as Iraola’s Liverpool side starts to emerge.

I’m sticking with my 2-1 prediction. Can’t wait.

That’s a few days older than Arteta’s press conference. Madueke didn’t train yesterday, but trained today and they had to assess. Calariofi, Rice and Tzolis all trained yesterday and today. There are no mind games with these things and the public is not a part of it anyway. Our coaching staff has a good idea about these things and how teams prepare or can quickly adapt certain details these days is much more flexible than before.

I always check the match thread title for 2 or 3 days before to make sure I’m not missing the essential. Day and time. If the thread starter gets it wrong I’m messed up :slightly_smiling_face:.

The clocks go back an hour here tonight, so I will have to keep my wits about me for the kick-off time. I think I’m an hour to the good, snooze wise.

They will defend. Try corners. Long throws. Dive. It’s not football.

Starmer’s (now Burnham’s) fault if we lose!

I give you ā€œdefendā€ and ā€œdiveā€, but (reportedly) they don’t rely on throw-ins and corners this season, like they did last season. Curious to see what the game will be like. Hoping for an early goal by us to really open it up. Worried that they have turned many games around and tend to find a way. Enter Liverpool?
