Reasonably solid and some goal threat in this team. Makes for a promising season.
Very good game of footy, Brighton are a good side.
Need to sort our defensive shape as they are getting out too easily since we scored our 2nd.
We are looking so dangerous in transition though
A good first half with two goals.
Brighton getting a spare man between the lines at times, so probably need a little rejig in positioning for the second half.
Brighton wary of the counter, exemplified by the booking for them just before the half time whistle.
Really happy with that first half. Itās close, and weāre clearly still disjointed in parts, which a good Brighton side are taking advantage of with good through balls and creative patterns, but the commitment is there from every one of our boys.

An excellent half of football, and before I say anything about Liverpool, credit to Brighton, who very much added a lot to make it a great contest. They had some clear chances and this is far from over. It feels like we need another goal, strange as is it to say that at 2-0 up.
On our end we have had lots of players doing very well. Wirtz is having one of his best games weāve seen. Barcola is frightening. Isak has been sharp and had more movement than weāve grown used to. Gakpo is having a good season and is doing well today.
In fact, all the forwards are doing well, with Wirtz, and they are finding each other and working well together.
Jacquet continues to be imperious at the back. After an iffy outing last time Van Dijk is winning everything in the air and looking really good again.
Itās only half time, but so far so good.
Ideally we come out and start the second half fast, as you can be sure that Brighton will come out and go for it.

Yup, the overloaded bit is key needs some help.
Problem is the press; specifically the shape behind it. Brighton are very patient in possession and wait for the space behind the press to emergeā¦
They especially attract Grav and then run behind him. But we are also letting them have it and setting traps.
Just need to tighten up our rest defence and then counter from there.
Its a dangerous leadā¦
We need to carry on in the same modeā¦a few more in the net would be greatā¦

Anyway. Carrick on his way to getting fired. Weāll likely get the new manager bounce when those turds come in.
With a two goal lead, just let the Brighton lad at the back have the ball. Donāt press too quick. And at the back, stay man to man to prevent an easy long ball (two passes from the back then Brighton have switched play to a player that has time to control the ball and run into space).
