Has to be mentioned as well, it is not the defence’s job to get the ball to our forwards. It’s the midfield. When Keita went off, it all died with him.

Firminho not playing might have a lot to do with that and it has to be said that Curtis did not have a good game.
because ultimately the managing of the game falls on them. They shield the defence and they also setup the attack. I know its a shit job, but somebody gotta do it…OX aint got no business playing midfield, we all love him but a midfield of OX, hendo and a struggling kid, jus aint gonna cut it against lallana and bissouma.
I haven’t felt frustrated or annoyed after a loss/draw in a long while but this one bothers me. Completely unacceptable for a variety of reasons. Our boys are better than this.

Firmino was getting man-marked by 3 man. None of our midfielders came to relieve the pressure. Firmino went to the right, AOC wasn’t there. Firmino went to the left, Jones was no where near him to relieve the pressure off him.
When Keita was there, the pressure on Firmino was much lesser. B&H knows that AOC and Curtis Jones ain’t Xabi Alonso and Thiago Alcantra. Those two simply do not have the intelligence to occupy the midfield.
