Pre-match: Liverpool vs Fulham | EPL, Sunday 3rd December, 14:00 GMT

He’s causing us a lot more problems than anything else though. Three times he’s tried crossfield passes that have been immediately intercepted and launched a counter attack.

Every attack has broken down on his foot too - admittedly the final ball is the hardest one but I genuinely don’t think he’s completed a meaningful pass.

Both goals (and the disallowed one) were scored with someone being allowed to shoot from inside the 6 yard box without any challenge. goalies are only saving it with a big dose of luck

Yes, not his best game. But I’d still dispute the productivity point - he’s working hard as ever.

Twice we’ve switched off, after taking the lead and been punished for it. We need to get rid of this attitude of thinking the game’s over after scoring.

The lad shouldn’t even be here. He is 26 and if he had any ambition he would be away…

credit to mac, working his socks off… cute watching him running hard to cover the left… who wins a 50 yard dash between him and williams

Maybe bring on Curtis for Ryan at the half? Grav needs to work on his fitness, not sure what’s up. Got Covid maybe?

HT 2-2

Excellent free kick by Trent. May be unlucky with the goal being credited as an own goal by Leno. We controlled the game till then.

But one misplaced pass, conceded with Wilson scoring.
How Bassey has no cards with stopping two counters – living the Fernandinho life.

Mac Alister with a beauty for the second, but Fulham back in it with another shot which on another day would deflect in a different way off the keeper (Kelleher seemed to be on the move towards the player rather than spreading himself).

I feel that Ryan Gravenberch was quiet. Didn’t get involved much forward, and seemed a little lacking in defence.

Anfield needs to whistle more when Fulham are taking an age at each restart.

yeah dude was huffing and puffing

Taas goal will go down as an OG

Bit of bullshit there.

Of course we are missing Ali, not only as a goalkeeper but also his calm and commanding presence. Our defense also has to adapt to Kelleher, it will be okay after a while hopefully.

2 wonder strikes have overshadowed a terrible performance, let’s not pretend otherwise. We’re at home to fucking Fulham. Our front 3 haven’t clicked whatsoever and the midfield 3 look like shadows.

Go watch the Villa game again and you’ll see what a proper performance looks like.

As good as we played going forward against Lask they made plenty of chances to score against us. We are playing a PL team today with a better standard of player and are being found out. Kelleher looks shot of confidence for the last ten minutes and needs to settle down for the first ten this second half.

here we go… lets see how we do

Would like to see Trent not going into midfield. Fulham are targeting that side and his midfield forays are unbalancing the defence.
Would also like to see Endo-san on for Gravenberch, who’s been a bit disappointing IMO.

To be honest, it’s the first halves and the late “blooming” into the game that I worry about. Because we have seen a tendency of that for several games now. And that’s not good enough to win the league, but can get us Champions League probably. Regarding this game, I think we will beat them. We are better. But they are still creating dangerous situations and can score another even if Kelleher doesn’t make a mistake, so we need to be alert and use our chances. But as said above, we tend to play better in the second half so not yet worried about the 3 points.

I just worry about the tendency to bloom late into the game, because better teams will punish you (and sometimes weak teams too) for that and deny you 3 pointers if that trend goes on.

Winning the Premier League is extraordinary difficult. We all know, City has a better team, economic doping or not. So if the title is the goal, we would do well to actually get in front of them and not tagging the tail of them and Arsenal. Because City has not started the season that well either, but I am confident that they will get better during the season (perhaps Arsenal will fall off like usual).
So to win the actual league, we better have an outstanding season, and so far, while very good, we haven’t played like we did in our title winning season.
But we are in it and will be in it for quite a while. But fixing the late starts and improving our form will be crucial later in the season.

That is all.

this fucking commentary

But that isn’t different from how we normally play and he should be saving the second one at the very least - I can allow the Wilson goal as a hard hit shot from close range.

I get we can’t have an Ali clone on the bench but the frustration for me is that I don’t ever feel confident when bringing in players like Adrian or Kelleher. Kelleher has always been a poor shot stopper.

Currently he’s conceded 3 or more in 5 of his 27 first team appearances. Hopefully we don’t add to that today.

Such a massive shame that Jaros got robbed of his chances, and possibly top level career, by injuries. He was miles better than Kelleher.

Feel like second half the officials will get more involved.
