Pre Match | Liverpool vs Fulham | PL Matchday 32 | Saturday 11 April,17:30

Unfortunately, we have to go through this all once again.

Fulham at home this time - usually a game we look forward to. I saw a stat today;

Liverpool have failed to win any of the three Premier League matches against Fulham under Slot. They are the only side he hasn’t defeated.

Fortunately for me, I’m on a wine tasting with friends, so will not have to endure watching it - and I’ll be in the right place to drown my sorrows/celebrate success.

Hopefully none of the 5 at the back nonsense.

Isak brace please - not leg brace mind, two goals.

Look forward to?

Does anyone know Slots record against them? :grimacing:

The most important match of the season!
We are still in with a shout for 3rd place and if others mess up who knows? Even higher?
Still Fulham are tricky and we seem to prefer passing to the opposition rather than each other. So another possible big hurdle for Slot and his team.

We have to win this one and the match against Crystal Palace. We’ve got away games against Everton, United and Villa, and home games against Chelsea and Brentford still to come. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Referee: Anthony Taylor. Assistants: Gary Beswick, Blake Antrobus. Fourth official: Oli Langford. VAR: Stuart Attwell

1 goal scored and 8 conceded in the last 3 games.
If ever we needed a win and a good performance, it’s on Saturday.

Who’s excited for this one then?

This is more important than the PSG return game. Absolutely must win given our remaining PL fixtures.
I think we’ll draw or even lose. And it could turn ugly. It could be Slot’s “Hodgson for England” moment. By that I mean zero support for the team and a half empty stadium at the final whistle.
Not going to predict a line-up, that’s something you do when 8 or 9 are nailed-on starters. Not when barely anyone deserves a shirt.

Agreed, but our recent premier league outings have been characterised by a lot of players simply looking like they don’t give a shit.

One thing to take from the PSG game - and admittedly we’re talking crumbs here - is that the players didn’t immediately fall to pieces at 1-0. In recent games that’s been to cue for the floodgates to open.

We go again :raised_fist:

Well they shouldn’t be exhausted after their stroll for 90 minutes.

Nice news just before the game…Robbo’s leaving at the end of the season…take it it’s true…the good uns are going…

Let’s not lose this…I would expect Slot to be more adventurous here.

Arne Slot faces the press once more:

  • Delayed start again. I always wonder whether he has to be dragged kicking and screaming to these or whether it is just faffing about with microphones. There is an advert for Bayern mid stream. Is this my wife wanting me to only watch the Bundesliga now?
  • Andy Robertson: Great player and person. Won everything. This season he hasn’t played as much and he is leaving as a result.
  • Recruitment next season - support from Hughes/Edwards: He has received a lot of support from owners, but also from fans. Fans still singing in Paris at the end. Club is aware of situation and owners give full support.
  • We are not n the best situation now. Two massive league games coming up. Focus now for Fulham.
  • We can be more competitive than in Paris. We need CL football next season to show we can compete and do better. Therefore we must perform in the league.
  • Yesterday was a recovery game. Not all players are capable of playing 2 games in 3 days.
  • Alisson is not in squad. Isak is available - good as we are struggling to convert chances (although none vs PSG). He will grow into his form after rehab.
  • Pressure to achieve CL next season: More players now available but still a few injured. Worries about fitness of Gomez and Frimpong (potential of reoccurring injury).
  • Fulham: Quality if players under manager. They have a clear identity of how to play. We played well last season with player down.
  • SOS fan protest: Anfield is very important to us. Atmosphere helps, as does playing at home. Slot hopes fans will be helpful in spite of protest.

I expect Harry Wilson to score, he’s a quality player.

I’m not sure Arne knows much about anything.

For some reason that sounds like Harry Enfield’s stroppy teenager. Did Kevin get a note from his mum?
