Wasn’t able to see the game, but took in the highlights. Conceding the first goal again is careless. Mind you it looked like a foul at the start, before they broke away.

We were all over them from the highlights I saw, loads of chances, hitting the frame of the goal multiple times and missing other chances.

And with all that waste, we still scored three goals and had plenty to spare. Szoboszlai the pick of the bunch, simply excellent. He has been threatening to do that, and there’s more to come from him. A fantastic player. Which makes me want to comment on Endo.

Endo is good enough for Liverpool. He is here! We just signed him and he is doing a job as part of the group. Positionally he is more of a 6 for us, and we have plenty of options to play higher up. Endo will play games like this one and provide cover for bigger occasions, while also coming in to close out games. We have more talented midfielders, we all know that, and if they start to click, and early signs are good, then Endo will definitely remain more of a squad man. And that’s just fine if that’s how it pans out. To be a squad man at Liverpool is no mean feat, especially now, as the pool of talent is phenomenal.

Every squad needs water carriers like Endo. Guys you can be confident bringing on at 70 mins to see a game out with the lead, etc. guys who can provide cover for injured starters and do a solid job. Endo didn’t cost a lot and so far is doing what’s required.

All three of our goals were amazing. Gakpo’s turn and shoot, Szoboszlai’s thunderbolt and Jota’s backheel - just wow.

Frustrating match for a long time. From after the goal we were on top but just didn’t have that luck.

It’s reassuring that if we had to put out this sort of team against the likes of Luton, they could probably come away with the three points.

Feeling more positive about the squad overall.
