They will likely be up for it too, so the match will be difficult.

I hope to see our fans set the tone moving forward, with lots of “cheats” chanting and vitriol aimed at the illegitimate enterprise.

Ideally we get the performance we need and the three points too.

We’ll need to do some hard but fair tackles very early on. That gets the crowd going as well.

Most other teams treat us with those crunching tackles and it’s time to let City have that as well.

Throw them off their initial game plan and with all that’s happening around them in their club , they will find it difficult to sync.

We don’t though?
We rarely get stuck into teams, probably because our players would get a red card where others would get a yellow.

Our players are too nice. No cynicism. Except macca to an extent , our midfield doesn’t do those snide cynical fouls which are a part of the game today. The small nudges etc.

And when we do mistime those other fouls , we get punished disproportionately.

We need to learn how to put players off of their game. Arsenal and City do that very well. We don’t and hence our midfield gets run through easily.

In other words, we need players that puts in a tackle…

Right now…
I am waiting with baited breath on the injury news.

I think Cody misses this, that was a bad tackle and it could be one to keep him out for weeks.

Isak, I feel will be ok. He has had a bit of time and if it was a bruised toe it will be ok by now.

Hopefully Jacquet was left out as a precaution. Nothing more. Zidane might just have enough nous and respect to leave a player to rest, rather than risk injury. Of the three missing he is potentially the biggest miss. I think Barcola could play CF if Isak is out, with Rio and Munoz on the wings.

Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

And refs who allow them?

Looks like it could be Koumas up front with Isak and Gakpo injury doubts (no need to rush back just because it is City). Koumas’ fight and energy could be very useful for this game, think he started every game for Wales so hopefully that means he is peak condition rather than knackered. Wouldn’t mind Nyoni starting ahead of MacAllister. Mac’s performances after international break have often been lacking a bit if my memory serves me well. Cheating verdict asside, we need to get a result to keep our upward trajectory going.

Looking at how some of their players performed over the international break I reckon a few of them are bottlers who we can get at. Guehi and Guardiol being the prime examples but they’re not alone.

Hopefully the intensity on and off the pitch will force plenty of errors and we’ll see them crumble.

All 'bout the money - Meja? I think it is called.

Sometimes I find another world
Inside my mind
When I realise
The crazy things we do
It makes me feel ashamed to be alive
It makes me wanna run away and hide

It’s all 'bout the money
It’s all 'bout the dum dum da da dum dum
I don’t think It’s funny
To see us fade away
It’s all 'bout the money
It’s all 'bout the dum dum da da dum dum
And I think we got it all wrong anyway

We find strange ways of showing
Them how much we really care
When in fact
We just don’t seem to care at all

The press conference is at 13:30 BST Friday:

I suspect that a club solicitor will be briefing Iraola given the likely nature of the questions.

He doesn’t fancy it, he knows the atmosphere will be so hostile!

Seriously, since he arrived I don’t think we’ve played City without them saying Haaland was a doubt beforehand.

When is the last time we did that?! We didn’t even do it during Klopp’s time.
