Suppose it’s a possibility if your considering Dom on the right side of thinking of using Diaz over there.
I think it would not be bad if we keep him as a backup for the January cup games and then loan him to another team at the end of the month. If that is possible according to the UEFA rules.

I think he can be loaned up at any point up to the close of the window.
Not against giving him a chance in the cup games, go and prove yourself if you are good you stay for the season if not loan again.
We have at least 3 / possibly 5 Cup games in January. Might help having him.

It is not that we have a surplus of senior midfielders so I’ll keep Szoboszlai in midfield.

Definitely keep Dom in midfield. If anyone is moved from the middle to the right, it should be Elliott.

Elliot has done well almost every time he has played and particularly so in the right of midfield. Pushing him further forward may take a bit away from his play and so maybe have Gakpo or Jota there? So a front three of Diaz | Nunez | Gapko/Jota???
I see the next month as a really good test for our forwards. I know the jury is still out on Nunez, Diaz and Gakpo but I hope they take the opportunity to show what they can do with the main man unavailable.

Absolute must win game. Less fussed about the FA Cup or League Cup games, but if we can win our next four league matches then we are really in this title race and it would be only Cheaty who I’d be worried about.

Wouldn’t surprised to see us come out like a house on fire. Even if they are reeling, they are a wounded animal that can cause problems, and will be desperate to get one over after we beat them at their place with 10. We will see what the side is made of!
