Dom is such a wonderful throwback where CMs roamed to wherever they needed to be to impact the game. Positional responsibility is great but there are times, including in our sides, where it feels like it’s gone too far and spaces that are begging for a runner to fill stay empty over the choice to stay behind the ball and be available for the drop pass. Not Dom.

Ah, this is such a good balm for my soul. I wish we could play easy opponents each round and just enjoy offensive football without getting too worried.

I think we have had a similar opinion on it since he signed - Mac Allister can do the attacking stuff, can find a pass etc just fine but what really sets him apart is that he’s a very rounded footballer. He’s exactly what a modern 6 looks like, just needs a bit of time to learn the role.
I’ve never been convinced he can be a top AM for us, I absolutely believe he will be a top 6 though.
