Iraola needs to change something here - we’re being cut through far too easily. Looks like Gakpo is still some way off match fitness, Grav playing advanced isn’t working, and the backline is a shambles.
Maybe hook Grav or Macca for Wirtz, hook VVD for Gomez, and get Isak on for either Gakpo or Koumas.

The formation and player posititions is all really weird too. Feels like our defenders are trying to push up really high to win the ball and finding themselves in no mans land.

We´ve put out a silly side and so far have been punished. They´re not a great side though so hopefully we can win.
My point was that he’s been in decline for a while, and has been making more frequent errors, and looks about a yard slow more often than not. He’s absolutely been one of our best players for a long time, but we needed to have proper succession planning in place, especially after letting Konate walk. Virg is still good, but can’t sustain the needed levels that he used to and that we need to accomplish our goals.
What’s silly about it?
