I think Klopps told them to use Ali to try and stretch them. It’s how we usually play but the problem here is City are just too strong for that. It does seem our best chance at scoring a goal even if its also our best chance of conceding one

Mac and Dom have been alright. Jones hasn’t.
Matip needs to help out Arnold, get closer whej he’s defending against Doku. He’s way too fast to ask Trent to defend him 1v1.

i think klopp wanted that defensive solidity that jones brings but he is really struggling because he holds onto it too long

Problem with that is it leaves Haaland more space. TAA needs help but i think its supposed to come from midfield
