The SandCastle prison stripes will be fired up for this one and coming away with the three points and no injuries or suspensions is likely the limit of our ambitions at this stage. Would be great to see signs of the understanding undoubtably developing between Flo and Mo and tightening up defensively.
We have won seven of the last eight league meetings against Newcastle.
Will be interesting to see how Arne lines up our midfield. Ryan will surely play but if its a midfield 3 then I expect we’ll see Flo and Dom with Alexis and/or Curtis coming off the bench. I do wonder if we could play a slightly narrower 4-3-1-2 with Flo behind Hugo and Mo and our midfield bolstered by Dom, Alexis and Ryan.
Here’s some recent goals against SandCastle to get us in the mood…
Let’s put these prisoners back into their cells while they serve the remainder of their contracts. Put Michael Scofield and Andy Dufresne into Isak’s cell, and T-Bag into Gordon’s cell.
This is going to be without question the most hostile away game we play all season. I am confident we can win if we play anywhere even close to our ability, but I am also fully aware that the bonesaws will be treating this as their cup final, as much as United do against us, and that does count for something.
Probably a cagey affair. I’ll take a winner in the 94th minute. I don’t care how its done.
The referee needs to be on top of his game from the very first minute in this … Alas, its Hooper so not much chance of that.
If the Sandcastle players imitate the Blueshite tactics, then it is purely down to Howe being a ‘weak as piss’ manager, for he must know that emotions against us are running high, and he needs to demonstrate he has control of his players.
We won’t be keeping players off the pitch in the fear that someone might get injured. In that case, we’ll never be able to field anyone in our Everton games.
Just hope the off field nonsense don’t affect our players and sure Slot will ensure it won’t.
Just get the 3 points without injuries and one big away game where teams may drop points would be done away with. All that I hope for.
This fear of hostility/injuring our players makes no sense to me. Why would they injure Liverpool players because Isak wants to leave? Obviously they have big lumps like Joe L that run around kicking people every game, but I think there’s a bit of paranoia here.
Crowd will be noisy but can be silenced by a couple of early goals
Ok
Have to do this, as if I don’t it will drive me mad…
With all respect to @dalglish as thread opener… I know we crossed swords recently, but this is general rather than personal. Its genuinely not a dig at you.
Can we not do nicknames in the titles of match threads? Its simply annoying, “Man Ure, The Arse” etc. Sandcastle…
And do we need all the time zone stuff. If you don’t know what time the team is playing, then sort yourself out, wherever in the world you are. Liverpool supporters are knowledgeable.
Theres a Gooner forum that has grown men laughing at such stuff as Leeds Labia Lips, Crystal Palarses…stupid stuff. Oh, we are lightly called Murdering Victim Scum Bin Dipping Vermin…or some variation of. Its a horrible forum. Though I digress. I don’t think we will ever descend to that crap.
Any player nervous of this should walk away from football. This is a big challenge and our players will be up for it. In fact, Ekitike could knock in a brace and the headlines will read “Who needs Isak”…
Our embarrassing non-performance in the League Cup final should be enough motivation for our lads to make amends here. The atmosphere might actually help us if they start charging around like headless chickens. JoeLinton is always a red card waiting to happen anyway.
If we don’t get a result here it’s probably curtains for the League.
