The thing is, we have quite clearly looked physically off it this year.
You look at PSG, their midfield are small and not exactly pacey but still dominate, snap into tackles and are organised. A management issue for us imo.
Their front 3, again, very slender and above average height but have pace and technique. Salah dropping off a cliff and wrong profiling for transfers for us.
Do you honestly - honestly - think that if PSG take a 1-0 lead back to Anfield, weāll really - REALLY - overturn it based on the fact that theyāve not even gotten out of second gear, and weāre running around like headless chickens with diarrhea?
(I mean, I suppose thereās a chance Slot will get the boot before the second leg?)
Thatās a problem for another day. Today the aim is to be in the tie when it comes back to Anfield.
There is still 45mins to play on Paris, so it might end up moot. But we shouldnāt feel under pressure to go and try and win this tonight, because honestly if we try and go toe to toe here they will fucking murder us.
Switch stance to protect a dodgy eye that wouldnāt cause a problem in any subsequent films, but at a later moment when PSG are a bit jaded, switch back to our traditional south paw stance and smash 'em for a glorious draw.
I donāt get the criticism from Carra and Henry. Yes, weāre playing quite negatively, but weāre clearly playing for two legs. Keeping it at 1-0 away would be a win for us, IMO.
