Pre- match: Real Madrid v Liverpool, Wednesday 15th March, 20:00

2 mins??? It took that lad 4 mins to put his boot back on…:rofl:

If we pressed and worked every game the same way we are doing tonight we wouldn’t be 6th.

I’m happy with this performance so far.

Our set pieces are abysmal, from one of our strengths to now a waste of 3 minutes.

This is the problem there is no who

Big HT team talk from Jurgen required.
Go 3 at the back please and add either Harvey or Carvahlo , to put in more energy or creativity.
Shift Darwin centrally and Gakpo left, Jota in behind. Everyone at their best position for 45 min please

TAA was out of position to make that last cross that ended in a corner too, terrible to see him out of his corner. Honestly, hes been having a bad time lately (for quite a while) but some of the things people have a go at him for is an absolute joke. If that had broken to an LFC player and we’d scored from it i still believe you’d still be moaning about him being out of position

We’re doing ok :+1:

Exactly this
Liverpool lost the first leg because of set pieces.
Lfc used to win because of set pieces.

Proud of the lads so far. After the first leg we were really up against it. Before kick off we had a mountain to climb, with midfielders dropping like flies.

We piled on an extra attacker and wangled a system to try to get some players on the pitch.

We have had a few chances and worked the goalie several times. Mind you, so have they.

The main positive is we have not conceded. Ideally we would have scored before the half, but there’s still time.

Score the first goal after the restart and we might yet find a way to get back into it.

Come on you reds!

4 shots on target each.

Pretty even and I like the formation so far. At times Madrid’s midfield just bosses it, but then we all knew that was going to happen.

Couple of good (very good in our case) saves and we are still in it. However, I don’t see Real panicking, unlike Barca. They are too good and too calm for that.

Honestly I want us to win this match, I think the tie is beyond us but a 1-0 would at least salvage some respectability.

Course at 2-0 I’ll be disappointed we don’t get a third!

That’s basically the first half summary of the ref style. R Madrid flinging themselves down at any touch to get the foul/waste the clock/slow things down.

If you try to play on, no advantage.

For me probably the better team so far especially with the players we are missing.

Ibou doing excellently covering Trent and he has Vini on the back foot as he has the strength and speed to nullify him.

Just need to be clinical with our chances and switched on defensively.

For me Real Madrid aren’t what peopl build them up to be seem more pragmatic that scintillating, but the do have the quality in moments.

Cannot help but appreciate how really really good Madrid are. Atleast against us and in Europe looks like. They know how to control the pace of the game and so good against the press and possession in general. And every single player. Their defense also doesn’t look vulnerable, unlike Pep’s sides.

Going to take a miracle from here, but I believe in those so will take one tonight.

our deliveries are really bad. No pace on the ball, for anyone to lash onto or get a header in.
