Huge question marks over Klopp for me… our number one tactic must be to stop Kroos having any time on the ball, yet here he’s had 45mins of walking around picking pass at will. That’s tactically inept.

Surprise starting lineup with Keita ahead of Thiago. Our midfield failed to function, and the front three spent the opening 25 minutes just pressing like chickens, with a chasm between them and the midfield.
Add in individual errors, and we find ourselves being completely, outplayed, hardly a sniff at goal, and most importantly two goals down.
Thiago introduced as a sub in the closing stages of the first half, but the damage is done. Aim for the second half should be preventing RM getting a third. Bonus would be an away goal.
To do that, we need to be much braver on the ball and connect the midfield to the front three.
BTW it was a definite foul in the play on Mane (who got a yellow for probably moaning to the ref) before the TAA clanger.

Cynical Real Madrid again for me. Trent ball over the top, Mane latching onto it, defender makes no attempt for the ball but just barges Mane over. No free kick.
They break out, pick a pass, dodgy header Trent, Asensio two bites at the cherry, 2-0.
It looks fairly easy for them, as a ball over the top is giving us all sorts of bother. Ideally we put much more pressure on it at the point of delivery, or their speedsters will continue to give us a hard time.
OK, chin up. The contest is only a quarter over. We’ve a hill to climb, but this team has climbed many mountains. Let’s keep going.
Oh, and as for Keita, well, few predicted it, and it wasn’t working. If he was hooked before half time for performance, that’s a big mark against, and he might not be here much longer.

Keita has been shocking…like the rest of the team. I have never seen a team at this level give the ball away so easily. A Sunday league through ball for the first goal and what the f** k Trent was doing for the second isa mystery. Get your heads up and give it a go second half or the season is done.
As De Jong is just saying, Trent should have closed the gap and covered better for their 1st goal, as I said, but no you know better
It’s a cliche, but the lads have just got to shake this off and start the second half at 0-0. Losing this 2-1 is no disaster, and would be an OK result.

Would have been better off playing Ox, but even that would still have been a fucking stupid decision by Klopp to not play Thiago.
