That got very entertaining near the end of the half.

I am hoping that challenge kicks him on to believe everything is back to normal with his knee, because I had no idea what he was doing on Antonio’s breakaway

Don’t think Robbo has beaten their first man once yet. His work rate is great but he’s got to improve his delivery.

Seems a lack of concentration or communication.

Must be Piss for an opponent manager to set up how to attack us… long balls into the channels.

What a weak goal.
What a free kick.
What a tackle.
Robbo doing everything well, EXCEPT crossing. He might as well be permanent defending right back, or just used for dummy runs, or let Timmy play for decent crossing/passing.

Edit: Konate should have started this game rather than Matip.

To me Tomáš Souček looks and plays like Nemanja Matić.

Before we scored, it was a shit game. Neither side had a shot on target and West Ham were playing like Allardyce was still in charge. Now it’s 1-1, they might be interested in actually playing a game of football.

Cresswell doing his best Telles impersonation in terms of making a bad tackle but somehow nicking the ball. :man_shrugging:

A bit too rough and tumble for classy Thiago?
Or do we miss his guile?

There is a very fine line between an epic tackle and a late one. VVD had little choice there, but wow was that close.

So I hope that was first gear…let’s go up a few gears now…and run em ragged…

I think he’s playing well. Well within the framework of the game. The space for the change of pace in MF is not there, YET. So no need to force it…

With the obvious difference of Soucek being a superb player.

Is anyone actually opening the post-match thread today or shall I do it?

We need to be wary of their runs in behind on the counter attack. We are too open.

HT 1-1

Blustering start with good runs down the left. Then a direct ball with Antonio running from his own half (similar tactics that teams have been doing lately to us) to win a corner. WH are near the top as they have been well drilled by Gollum.

Ali with a mare for the opening goal. Was crowded but needed to do better.

Looks like the pitch has been narrowed a good 3 metres. WH have a hard working midfield and are keeping things narrow, which makes it super difficult. WH’s attacks were basically all identical, with ball into space for Antonio. Brilliant VVD tackle near the close of the half.

For 20 minutes after the WH goal, the game was stop start which is just what WH want. We couldn’t get into rhythm.

TAA – Klopp is doing the Trent come fully into the middle with Henderson/Salah go wide right tactics again. But with WH playing narrow, I’d prefer TAA to stay wide to stretch both sides, and allow Salah to get more closer to goal.

The equaliser – nice one metre shift to the right and quality from TAA. The obvious move for me is Thiago for Ox.

Thinking more of Matic at his prime anchoring the Chelsea midfield. He was pretty good in those days.

hahaha

‘Well…if no one else wants to…’

Confirmation of what bias?

Look at the goal given. since when is it ok to foul the GK?

Or the Creswell challenge?
