I know one game they’ll lose.

Funnily enough, if we both win everything else, that’s the one game we can afford not to win.

I’d be looking at something similar again. The question for me is whether to start with Trent/ Robbo and/or Bradley/Gomez.

My feeling last night was that Robbo was very rusty. Trent looked OK but Bradley was phenomenal. Is it best to start with the fittest players?

I think the headache is bigger for Arteta here. “Do I start Martinelli who will terrorize Trent, or will it be Bradley who will put him in his pocket? And if I don’t start Martinelli and it’s Trent starting, as soon as I sub in Martinelli, Bradley replaces Trent like last time.”

He only has one chance to be lucky, and that’s only if he starts Martinelli and we start Trent, but he can never guess that. A poker game until the line ups are revealed.

Robbo looked pretty good to me, showed his usual energy and willingness to offer support up and down.

Gakpo looked like he didn’t even warm up properly before coming on.

I would not put Bradley and Trent in the same lineup this season, pretty sure they will both cover right back until the end of the season (unless there’s a massive injury crisis).

This will be a difficult game. Having seen how we chopped-up Chelsea, Arsenal will resort to shithousery from the very first minute and we/Tierney have used-up all the goodwill for this season. Come on Red, raise hell.

It’s important we win this game because that will ensure we will still have more points than the rest and I am almost sure if we have more points than everyone else after 38 matches, we will win the league. Trust me.

Bradley and Trent are tough ones. Bradley deserves to play after his performances but Trent was a creative force before his absence too.

It’s a good headache to have, almost everyone are putting themselves forward for being deserving of a starting place at the moment.

However, Conor has looked the better player when defending out wide and 1 v 1

Don’t mean this in a bad way but we might need Trent as #6 cover in case Alexis sees an early yellow or gets injured.

Klopp also said in the post-match last night that we have to be careful with young players playing too many games in a short space of time. Bradley is still physically getting there, Klopp said a few times he looks knackered after the game. All part of the process how to get used to this highest level. I get that we’re all in love with Bradley right now and Gomez is getting a lot of love too, but Trent and Robbo will be back starting soon. Arsenal are a different animal to Chelsea also. The good thing is what we’ll hopefully continue getting is competition, opportunity to rest, opportunity to use players in different positions.

I’m sure that Jürgen and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

Hmm you don’t sound completely sure. They say a picture is worth one thousand words - perhaps draw it?

Time to knock Arsenal out the race. We need to go all in on this one.

Alisson

Trent Konate VvD Robbo

Szoboszlai MacAllister Jones

Jota Nunez Diaz

If the midfield is tiring or we struggle to pick the lock, bring on Bradley and push Trent up. But I think we’ll have no problem scoring tbh. Bigger concern is keeping their wingers quiet.

I’m not sure I want Martinelli and Saka running at two fullbacks who are just getting back their match fitness. Bradley and Gomez did brilliantly at the emirates a couple of weeks ago.

Until such time the trophy is won, every game (excluding pre-season friendlies) are must win games…in any case it’s pretty irrelevant seeing as we treat 99% of games as such anyway.

We’ve played them twice over the last few months, won 1 and robbed of the chance to win the other. Both games showed there’s not a lot between the 2 sides so I’d be surprised if it were anything but a nip and tuck game.

The clear difference here is our quality up top, Martinelli and Jesus are not at the level of Diaz and Nunez.

I agree. You know what you’re going to get with Bradley and Gomez right now…brilliance. Trent and Robbo will be great options from the bench as they continue to get eased back in. What a luxury to have.
