PreMatch | Brighton vs Liverpool | League Cup last 16 | Wednesday October 30th 19:30h

I would give Jaros a chance to be fair.

Never know if we need him.

This is the first in the list of silverware AS can win… He might be keen to try and get that over the line - think he will go strong, with just a couple of changes from Sunday

Ok, I’m going to say the unsayable.
I hate this cup. It’s a drain on our resources, it means more chance of injuries, it clogs up the fixture list.
Yes, it’s fun to win it, but that only lasts a week or two.
It should be limited to those clubs which aren’t in European competition. Then it would be a worthy target for clubs like Crystal Palace or Wolves. Then it might be interesting.
I never want us to lose, but the league game against BHA is so much more important.
I’ll still get up at 7 to watch though.

It’s fun when we get to see some kids involved…

Yeah, but we aren’t going to are we?

The youngest will probably be Bradley and you just know Darwin will get an injury.

An easier route to the finals might make this cup more interesting at the business end.

Will probably get more into this if we end up going far.

A trophy is a trophy though. Nothing builds confidence for the players like lifting those trophies.

But I’m not too fussed about this one at this point of time though.

That’s kind of where I was going with, but I wanted to note that even under Jürgen we didn’t play as many kids as the portrayal would make it seem.

It tended to be more of those who hadn’t been getting games (so like Endō’s situation) and about resting the key players who had too many games (Salah, van Dijk, etc.). Again, that’s not too different with Arne’s current situation, except we don’t have as many kids to call on (@Sweeting may correct me on this one) as the ones who are closer to first-team action have been loaned out or are injured.

We’ve got Mabaya , Nyoni , Jaros there who could be called up. (Not sure on their injury status)

Also Morton who’s probably a premier league player.

Thats 4 people who can be given a fair number of minutes.

Van Dijk , Trent , grav need the rest though. Majorly. And probably Nunez seeing as Jota isn’t fit too.

I think my team would be

Jaros
Gomez Quansah Van Dijk Tsimikas
Endo Morton
Szob Nyoni Gakpo
Nunez

Half time: Konate for Virgil.

Didn’t work very well last season :face_with_peeking_eye:

I’ll be up for seeing Nyoni in the #10 position. Yeah, would rather have Bradley Quansah Gomez Tsimikas as the defense though from Mascot’s team.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

Injured, apparently.

Do we not have any other strikers in the squad? No other youngsters? Can’t risk a Darwin injury with Jota out for another month

Sounds like a @Sweeting question (or perhaps @Euphoria), but I don’t think there are any who would be close to being ready?

Give Harvey Davies a chance. He will make Shamal George proud.

No one who is ready. Maybe an outside chance they accelerate Ngumoha, although he’s a winger more than a striker. Ranel Young has played well this season but I don’t think he’s an option yet.

I would think Kieran Morrison and Trey Nyoni are the next in line though.

I notice Cannonier is now one of the oldest players in the system, especially among the forwards. I assume he doesn’t have much prospects at this level given the lack of coverage of him.

Great chance for Morton if he gets himself a few games at least until January.

Things somehow worked out in a way that he remained here and with Endo probably playing his last season, it’s alright having 5 options for that double-pivot role (plus we have other options in emergency).

Still can’t find how much he has left on his contract but hey, he’s part of a Liverpool first team squad that is doing well, playing the midfield structure he’s mostly played on his loans, great platform for him to impress his club and potential suitors.
