PreMatch | Brighton vs Liverpool | League Cup last 16 | Wednesday October 30th 19:30h

Bradley has only just returned to training, hasn’t he? Might be a bit early for a start?

He never did (in my opinion), extremely limited player physically and technically just has that good game knowledge and intelligence that let him get a bunch of goals at U18 level. I personally put next to nothing in U18 goals as so many players who never develop get huge hauls there. That step to U21 is a massive one and those who take it smoothly are showing a kind of scalability that indicates they can move to the next level. Those who struggle probably aren’t going to make it. In Cannonier’s case he struggled whenever he played at U21 level and then got injured and has barely played since.

Makes sense. He always seemed like a cool story more than a genuine prospect.

Yeah he was back yesterday. Hopefully he can at least play a half and give Trent some rest.

Yes, so how’s it going?

Is @jabu still at the airport? Thanks

I don’t think many U21 players would be involved anyway but another factor to consider is that the U21s are also playing their own game tonight - at home to Hertha Berlin in the PL International Cup.

Happy with that side and good to see Bradley back.

As long as we’re not rushing him back when he isn’t fully recovered.

Rumoured he faced. Late fitness test on Sunday and would align with why we ended up with 2 goalies on the bench.

For those without Sweeting’s encyclopaedic knowledge of our young players, here’s more on Ranel Young:

And based on my knowledge of Norwegian, Ranel means “warrior counsel”.
