Ok
Fucking pedant.
I said “Maybe this”…
Sorry for attempting to explain something you could have fucking googled for yourself.
Er no it isn’t…
It is a phrase meaning ‘God is most great’, used by Muslims in prayers and as a general declaration of faith or thanksgiving.
@PeachesEnRegalia APOLOGISE
I expect the usual starting 11 with 5 substitutions in 2nd half.
Hopefully the authorities have a sense of perspective (stop laughing) and choose to have a word with Gakpo, rather than make a big deal out of it.
If what Gakpo did was unacceptable, are we cringing every time Salah scores a goal and kneels down to perform a prayer of thanks to Allah - I think it is called the sujud? That overt religious display has been shown consistently on the pitch for years.
I’m not offended or bothered in the slightest by it, it’s part of who he is and he is respectfully including his God in his celebration. But if there’s no tolerance for any sort of religious display on the pitch, then the authorities need to remove all of it, thoroughly and consistently.
I hope I’m living in a world where we have a little more tolerance and common sense that would stop it from going that far.
#freeGakpo
Thought you were in the USA..?
Haha, this country is a disgrace on any number of levels, under the current MAGA regime. Fair comment.
Still, as an Englishman with an ingrained sense of fair play, I hope the authorities don’t make a mountain out of a molehill over Gakpo. Consider the context, the joy, and he has given a shout-out to his God. I hope we can live and let live in this instance.
Oh he cares….hes just been on a 4 day bender.
Ate at Spoons, drank in Blob Shop.
I’ve seen it said somewhere else, that he will definitely get a fine because Gakpo belongs to Jesus but the FA belongs to Satan.
Arteta losing again gives us breathing room
I see you picked up where you left off when you went missing…
You’re saying class is permanent?
No, I’m saying you’re slow.
Agreeance. That’s what I thought. I was just making sure.
That will be confirmed in November when he says " yes we won league ".
Nothing should come of Gakpo’s T shirt, there is the near certainty he knew nothing about that rule, plus it only became apparent after he took his shirt off.
Fixed
I would have thought that they will simply caution Gakpo over his future conduct. If they fine him, I await Dave Gorman’s poem taken from the comments section of the Daily Mail.
