PreMatch | Everton vs Liverpool | PL Matchday 15 | Weds 12 February 19:30h | The last Derby at Goodison

The referee has decided this game is all about him. Soft fouls, or non-existant fouls as we saw three times in that half, are given to Everton meanwhile Liverpool players need to literally have their shirt ripped off to get something.

We can talk about us lacking rhythm, which we do, but it’s because the referee keeps breaking the game up.

A lot of annoying, misplaced passes in that half. But let’s not panic — when we have slotted the right passes and took a second to breathe, we’ve created dangerous chances.

A wee bit more focus and we will win this.

has not scored or assisted on a goal since december…

Gakpo been very quiet also but we know he can score a cracking goal at any time.

It’s not called Boodison for nothing.

My favourite was Oliver carding Robertson for a push, then totally ignoring the same foul on Gakpo.

Don’t think Robbo and Gakpo are speaking! I don’t think Robbo has passed the ball forward yet, all he does is pass ball to Virgil every time.

I would fear Nunez losing his rag, and getting a red, with the way the Ev center backs are playing.

Its all a bit too slow for my liking and my liking is very important

yep there is that…

How can you stop a foul when you aren’t sure if Oliver will blow or not.

I believe it is probably sub-conscious and probably influenced by the crowd but he’s been terrible. The standard for a foul between the two teams is completely different.

Our football is slow and boring. Every first half is the same. This whole “control” approach is basically the back 4 and Ali passing about between them.

Exactly so how can you say stop the silly fouls.

The Bradley and Robertson cards were totally unnecessary. Fouls neither needed to make.

I used to think that Oliver was a decent ref but for the last two seasons he’s been diabolical.

Thats the one which boils my piss its not been shit its something different.

HT 1-1:

After a relatively steady start with a lot of possession, our lads suddenly have that brainfart which leads to the one nil. Ridiculous.

Fortunately, our lads know how to get back into the game quickly, and Macca’s goal was no less than what he deserved, it was brilliant.

Since then, the game has been quite equal in terms of chances, although we enjoy a lot more possession. But there isn’t much to show for, unfortunately. Bar that late shot from Szoboszlai, there weren’t many clear chances for us.

A lot of our passes didn’t come off, duels were lost in midfield, and everything looked a bit difficult. Maybe it’s the pitch, or the game’s physicality?

I’m still confident that our superior quality will come through during the second half, especially when looking at our bench. But our lads with yellow cards should be careful. Oliver won’t hesitate if he sees a chance to send someone off. Hopefully Slot is aware of that.

Let’s cross fingers that our lads will find a way to score more goals while cutting off the frailty at the back, and take the three points!

Typical derby. We’ve played a bit of football, but only in fits and starts. They have mixed it up and made it a bit more attritional than we’d like. A few yellows dished out - Robbo was stupid for his, and they could easily have had a second yellow for a sending off for the pull back.

Regroup, go out and play our football. Calm it down a bit, and we will win it.

I’d like to see Nunez come on for at least the last twenty. Depending on how fit he is, Trent’s quality on the ball might be telling as well.

Game on. Come on you reds!

PS - haven’t seen any posts, but it was not a free kick that led to their goal. He jumped up, no contact. Oliver bought one there.

It’s not just been the past two seasons.
