Back to the league and visit to our neighbour’s shiny new stadium for the derby match.
A win here could do wonders for our chances of Champions League football next season. How motivated will our players be after their midweek disappointment?

Really looking forward to it, basically a new era of ‘Everton away’, a new stadium.
Would love to witness the pre-match part outside the ground from a fan perspective, how it will all look like and what will the new routines be like going forward, with them now being basically in city centre.
They will be up for it and we should be, too. Big pressure also gives us a big opportunity. Would be brilliant to win our first game there. They actually lost more games at home than away in all competitions this season.
Oh God, I’d completely forgotten about that. Not good at all, absolutely not good.
I’m afraid we’re in for a very unpleasant surprise. Besides, we already have enough injuries; I could gladly do without this [insert appropriate word] opponent.
The away game against Everton is always the worst game of the season for me, and Slot probably has no idea what he’s in for.
Not sure what the fuss is about. We showed against PSG that if we sit deep, we don’t concede too many.
All in all… they are within 5 points distance, which says everything about how far we’ve fallen. And I’m not even sure we’ll keep it at five, given the lack of fit strikers, capable wingers and a midfield full of holes like Swiss cheese.
Fortunately, I’ll miss the derby game because I’ll be travelling back from a weekend in London. I’m not expecting much, as we’re just not scoring many goals at the moment. It’s Everton’s cup final and they’ll try to kick us off the park as usual. I just hope our players can lift themselves for this, after the disappointment of Tuesday night.
There’s no way Everton will let us win the first derby at their new stadium. They’d rather send a few of us to Royal Liverpool University Hospital than let that happen.
