Prematch | Everton vs Liverpool | PL Matchday 33 | Sunday 19/04/2026 - 14:00 BST

Physicality and basic common sense seemed to emerge after the goal. Why can’t we play like that all the time? Is it a mentality thing?

Half-time. At least we are 1-0 up.

When we got it down on the floor looked better, but up until scoring we were trying to take them on at their game.

As you may have guessed Virg is getting on my nerves with his pointing and gesticulating rather than wanting the ball or giving an angle for a pass.

We did get 1 great pass, so there is at least one positive from him.

The lack of confidence is so evident.

Not the greatest half, but we are ahead and putting aside all your bias, Cody is one of the better players of the half. Isak barely had any touches before that shot, Wirtz not getting into the rhythm of the game, Dom seems assured controlling things in midfield, Gravenberch getting steadier as the half goes.

You missed out Jones our best player so far, main one for calming us down, keeping possesion and playing it through the lines on the floor

cody had probably his best half of football in a while, ryan, settled in, dom is dom, curtis is not as good as he thinks he is (stop the dribbling shit), mo worked hard on both ends, flo a bit light weight, robbo was ok, mama was great, isak 4 touches

A few digs at Cody on here. I must be watching a different game as I thought he looked very dangerous for once!

The football in general has been of poor standards, separated by the only real moment of quality.

We’ve coped with the physical aspect better than I thought, so there is that.

So you missed our goal then.

At least we’re winning and we finished the half well.

Isak’s lack of fitness should work to our advantage in the second half when he’s subbed off, Gakpo goes central and Rio is brought on.

Would have loved us to have Origi on the bench to replace Isak.

2 good shots, fantastic assist, but still some bad bits, no different from many others, without the shots or fantastic assist :face_blowing_a_kiss:
